I reported last week about Yitzhak Shapira’s endorsement by Rabbi Dov Lior, a nationalist-religious settler who endorses Honenu – the Far Right group defending Yaakov Teitel.

Now Akiva Eldar reports in Haaretz:

Who is funding the rabbi who endorses killing gentile babies?

Right-wing spokesmen, including some elected officials, rushed to place Yaakov “Jack” Teitel in the fringe group alongside Yigal Amir, Eden Natan Zada, Eliran Golan, Asher Weisgan, Danny Tikman and a few other “political/ideological” murderers.

True, they acknowledge, there are among us several lunatic rabbis who agitate to violence. Really, just a handful; even a toddler could count them.

The more stringent will note that unlike the Hamas government, our government does not pay the salaries of rabbis who advocate the killing of babies.

Is that so? Not really.

For example, government ministries regularly transfer support and funding to a yeshiva whose rabbi determined that it is permissible to kill gentile babies “because their presence assists murder, and there is reason to harm children if it is clear that they will grow up to harm us … it is permissible to harm the children of a leader in order to stop him from acting evilly … we have seen in the Halakha that even babies of gentiles who do not violate the seven Noahide laws, there is cause to kill them because of the future threat that will be caused if they are raised to be wicked people like their parents.”

Lior Yavne, who oversees research at the Yesh Din human rights organization, checked and found that in 2006-2007, the Ministry of Education department of Torah institutions transferred over a million shekels to the Od Yosef Hai yeshiva in Yitzhar.

The Ministry of Social Affairs has allocated over 150,000 shekels to the yeshiva since 2007, scholarships for students with financial difficulties studying there. And what can they learn with the help of public funding from the head of the yeshiva, Rabbi Yitzhak Shapira? According to selected items published last week in the media, the boys can learn that Teitel is not only innocent, but also a real saint.

Their spiritual leader stated in his book, “Torat Hamelekh” that “a national decision is not necessary in order to permit the shedding of blood of an evil kingdom. Even individuals from the afflicted kingdom can attack them.”

A brochure distributed in Judean and Samarian communities stated that “needless to say that nowhere in the book does it state that these remarks are aimed only at gentiles in ancient times.”

The commandments in the book do not suffice only with gentiles; you can also find in them approval to attack leftist professors: every citizen in the kingdom opposing us who encourages the fighters or expresses satisfaction with their actions is considered a pursuer and his killing is permissible,” wrote the rabbi and adds, “and also considered a pursuer is someone whose remarks weaken our kingdom or have a similar effect.”

Not long ago, Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman announced that he would ask European Union countries to halt their support for the Breaking the Silence organization because he was displeased with their publications.

The minister surely has reservations about the rabbi’s publications.

He is invited to approach his colleagues at the Ministry of Education and at the Ministry of Social Affairs.

Kill Enemy Children: Jewish Edict.

Hundreds of children were killed in Israel’s war on Gaza earlier this year.

A Jewish rabbi has issued a book giving Jews permission to murder non-Jews, including babies and children, who may pose an actual or potential threat to Jews or Israel. “It is permissible to kill the Righteous among non-Jews even if they are not responsible for the threatening situation,” Rabbi Yitzhak Shapiro, who heads the Od Yosef Chai Yeshiva in the Yitzhar settlement in the occupied West Bank, wrote in his book “The King’s Torah.”

He argues that Goyem (a derogatory epithet for non-Jews) may be killed if they threaten Israel.

“If we kill a Gentile who has sinned or has violated one of the seven commandments – because we care about the commandments – there is nothing wrong with the murder.”

Shapiro, who heads a small Talmudic school at the settlement of Yitzhar near Nablus, claims his edict “is fully justified by the Torah and the Talmud.”

The anti-goyem edict seems to come in response to the arrest by Israeli police of a Jewish terrorist who has confessed to having murdered two Palestinian shepherds in the West Bank.

The terrorist, an American-born immigrant named Yaakov Teitel, also confessed to have tried to assassinate leftist Jewish figures.

Police considered the arrest an important achievement in combating Jewish terrorism, which experts contend thrives on religious edicts issued by rabbis affiliated with the religious-Zionist camp.

Nearly 16 years ago, a Jewish terrorist named Yigal Amir assassinated then Israeli Premier Yitzhak Rabin.

Moreover, numerous innocent Palestinians have also been murdered in cold blood by Jewish terrorists.

In 1994, Baruch Goldstein, a notorious Jewish terrorist, murdered 29 Muslim worshipers inside Al-Ibrahimi Mosque in the West Bank town of al-Khalil.

Non-Humans

The controversial edict is backed by numerous rabbis affiliated with the so-called national-religious camp as well as the Talmudic seminary in West Jerusalem, known as Merkaz Ha’rav.

Among the rabbis who have publicly supported the edict are Yitzhak Ginsburg and Ya’akov Yosef.

Ginsburg had written a leaflet glorifying murderer Goldstein and called him a “saintly figure.”

Shapiro’s views on how Palestinians and non-Jews in general ought to be treated according to Jewish religious law (halacha) are widely looked at as representing the mainstream not the exception in Israel.

During the Israeli onslaught against Gaza earlier this year, Mordecahi Elyahu, one of the leading rabbinic figures in Israel, urged the army not to refrain from killing enemy children in order to save the lives of Israeli soldiers.

He had even petitioned the Israeli government to carry out a series of carpet bombing of Palestinian population centers in Gaza.

“If they don’t stop after we kill 100, then we must kill a thousand. And if they do not stop after we kill a thousand, then we must kill 10,000. If they still don’t stop, we must kill 100,000, even a million. Whatever it takes to stop them.”

According to Israel Shahak, author of “Jewish History, Jewish Religion: the Weight of Three Thousand years,” the term “human beings” in Jewish law refers solely to Jews.

Many Jewish orthodox rabbis, especially within the national-religious sector, view international conventions incriminating the deliberate killing of civilians and destruction of civilian homes and property as representing “Christian morals” not binding on Jews.

In 2006, the Rabbinic Council of Jewish Settlements in the West Bank urged the army to ignore Christian morals and exterminate the enemy in the north (Lebanon) and the south (Gaza Strip).

Such manifestly racist and hateful edicts don’t raise many eyebrows in Israel, neither among the intelligentsia nor in the society at large.

Çiftçi bir Yahudi aile geleneğinden geliyordu Rabin. 20. yüzyılın ilk yarısında Yahudi çiftçisi demek milli Yahudi bilincine sahip, eğitimli, Yahudi geleneklerine bağlı, tek bir ülkü etrafında toplanmış değerlere bağlılık anlamına da geliyordu.

Rabin, babası Ukrayna annesi de Belarus kökenli Doğu Avrupa Yahudileri‘nden. Aşkenazi grubuna dahil Orta ve Adoğu Avrupalı Yahudiler, İsrail‘in de geleceğinin temellerini atmışlardır. İzak Rabin de bunlardan biridir. Eğitimli, kültürlü, düzgün bir Yahudi devleti ülküsü doğrultusunda ne yapılması gerektiğini bilen ve bu doğrultuda canla başla çalışan birisiydi Rabin. İsrail Ordusu‘nda da aynı ruh ve kafayla görevine devam etti. Ancak artık devlet yönetimine geçtiğinde, büyük değişimlerin gerçekleştirilmesi zamanının geldiğini anladı.

Barış yanlısıydı. Filistin Kurtuluş Örgütü lideri Yaser Arafat‘ı da barış partnörü olarak yanına aldı. Ezeli düşmanlar, Arap-İsrail kavgasına son vermek üzere bir araya gelmeyi kabul etmişlerdi. Daha da önemlisi kendi halklarını da bu konuda ikna çalışmalarına başlamışlardı.

Yakın dostum Oktay Yılmaz’ın tavsiyesi ve katkılarıyla okumaya başladığım A’RAF – Oslo Barışından El Aksa İntifadasına Ortadoğu (Bora Bayraktar) kitabı İzak Rabin adına okuduğum, izlediğim ve duyduğum herşeyi yeniden canlandırdı düşüncelerimde.

Bir askeri ve/veya politikacıyı sevebilmekgerçekleşmesi zor bir olasılık, benim için azından. Ancak, nedense İzak Rabin’in duruşunu beğenir(d)im. İsrail-Filistin çekişmesini yakından takip edip olayların içyüzünü anlamaya çalıştığınızda kişiler ve olaylar sizin bir parçanız olmaya başlıyor sanki.

İzak Rabin’in öldürülmesi değildi herkesi şaşırtan. Katilinin bir Yahudi olmasıydı, olayın şaşırtan boyutu. Yigal Amir isimli aşırı dinci bir Yahudi tarafından öldürüldü İzak Rabin. Barış adına atılacak adımları ve yapılması gerekenleri bütün iyi niyetiyle dile getirmişti 4 Kasım 1995 akşamı. Hamas‘tan gelebilecek saldırılara karşı hazırlıktaydı İsrail güvenlik güçleri. Hamas’ın eylem hazırlığı içerisinde olduğu duyumları geziniyordu ortalıklarda diyor Bora Bayraktar kitabında.

Anlaşılan o ki, Batı Dünyası‘nın tahminlerinin aksine, barışa hazırlıklı olmayanlar Filistinli Araplar değildi sadece. Batı’nın öyle bir çifte standartlı görüşü vardır zaten. Çatışmaların inceleme ve tahlilini kendi saf ve aşırı iyimser algılama filtrelemelerinden geçirirler. Sorunun derinliğine inemezler. Problem tek taraflı ve Filistin kökenli olarak görülür.

Oysa Yigal Amir örneğinde de gördüğümüz üzere İsrail tarafında da barışı, uzlaşmayı ve birarada yaşamayı istemeyenlerin sayısı hiç de küçümsenecek kadar az değil.

İzak Rabin’in iyi bir politikacı ve çevresiyle karşılaştırıldığında bir idealist olduğunu söyleyebilirim.Herşeyden öte uzlaşma sürecini başlatanlardan biridir ve kendisini İsrail halkının karşısına almayı göze almıştır.

Bora Bayraktar’ın kitabını okumaya yeni başladım henüz. Ancak, düşüncelerimi kaplayan İzak Rabin imgesini es geçemedim.

Yitzhak Rabin, Prime Minister of Israel, was assassinated at a political rally at Tel Aviv in November of 1995. His killer, Yigal Amir, is serving a life-sentence in prison. Amir was somehow able to speak via telephone to journalists for two private news agencies. One of those news agencies still plans to air their interview, the other has bowed to overwhelming censorship efforts trying to prevent anyone from hearing Amir’s words.

Ben Dror Yemini, an editorialist for the Maariv daily, claimed that airing Yigal Amir’s statements doesn’t contribute to freedom of expression. It has been suggested that there is a concerted Israeli effort to prevent anyone from having media contact with Amir. Apparently no one in the Israeli government is concerned with Amir’s motivations, or the possibility that understanding why he did what he did, what makes him tick, may lead to the prevention of a similar assassination attempt in the future.

What is most apalling, it is a collective effort to silence the media, by a U.S. ally. Our own government has condemned many nations for trying to control their media, yet Israel is free to do as they please. Interesting, isn’t it? While I might agree that someone like a political assassin shouldn’t have free reign to do as he likes, it is a horrible sin to deny others the right to an attempt at understanding him. We often try to understand things that are both familiar and unfamiliar to us. We as a people embrace the distasteful, so that we may come to know why it is distasteful. Any effort to deny us understanding is wrong. If we are not allowed the benefit of free thought, free expression, then we are oppressed. One would think a people who had to go through oppression would understand the need to “not repeat” such a thing.

Yigal Amir’s words are freedom of expression. If the Israelis don’t want to hear them, they can simply switch the channel. But, however, to deny others the choice to hear them if they wish, is a crime.

Avishai Raviv was an Israeli government agent provocateur (whose code name was “Champagne” for the bubbles of incitement he created to tarnish the right-wing Israelis) who goaded Yigal Amir to assassinate Israeli Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin (although this is hotly disputed by investigative reporters like Barry Chamish) and created the fictitious right-wing group, Eyal.

Avishai Raviv has never been charged with incitement or as an accessory to the murder of Yitzhak Rabin and has disappeared from sight, undoubtedly just following orders or else.

I was NEVER involved with the extremist Jewish group “Eyal” but had met Avishai Raviv during a Temple Mount Faithful demonstration in Jerusalem when he helped me to protect Gershon Salomon (chairman, Temple Mount Faithful) during Tisha B’Av when the police carried Gershon away from the Mugrabi Gate and dropped him and he hit his head and went unconscious and the throng practically trampled him except for me trying to cover him and shouting at the people to be careful that Gershon was on the ground — and I’m pretty sure it was Avishai who helped me keep the people from stepping on him.

Howard Grief, an attorney and member of the Temple Mount Faithful, witnessed it all and wrote The Jerusalem Post about it (we both had a letter published the same day: Howard’s letter was called “Police Brutality” and mine was called “Discrimination” – The Jerusalem Post, Friday, Aug. 25, 1995).

Before that incident I had met Avishai Raviv in the office of the Temple Mount Faithful when he and someone else came there. He had invited Moshe Weissfish (Gershon Salomon’s cousin) and I to his apartment in Hebron, but it was later explained to me that Avishai was a “shtinker” (informer) and that the police wanted to falsely associate the Temple Mount Faithful with such people and how he had even taken it upon himself once in Tel Aviv to have an office on campus with “Temple Mount Faithful” on the door or something like that, which Gershon immediately forbade him upon knowledge of it as he had no authority to do it and did NOT represent the Temple Mount Faithful in any manner, shape or form.

This is what I remember of the agent provocateur Avishai Raviv and his fake group “Eyal.”

I might add though that after the assassination of Yitzhak Rabin, some female (British?) reporter (probably my age) who knew Nick Day of The Traveller, kept trying to get Avishai’s phone number or have me contact him (since she heard I had met him) until I told her I wanted nothing to do with him. She was unrelenting until Nick Day told her to back off. I guess she was his friend or acquaintance.

En tiempos de inestabilidad en Israel, cercanos al vacío político -la ministra de Exteriores trata de formar Gobierno tras la dimisión de Ehud Olmert-, hay quien no pierde la ocasión. La extrema derecha, alentada por la impunidad, pisa el acelerador. Que ataquen a los campesinos palestinos no es novedad. Sucede casi a diario. Pero sí lo es lo ocurrido esta madrugada. Los fundamentalistas judíos han lanzado una bomba casera contra el profesor y escritor Zeev Sternhell, laureado este año con el Israel Prize en Ciencias Políticas y notorio opositor a los asentamientos y al asedio de Gaza. El prestigioso intelectual resultó herido por la metralla en una pierna. En los aledaños de su casa, la policía halló panfletos: se recompensará con 200.000 euros a quien mate a un miembro de Peace Now. Al jefe de esta organización pacifista, Yariv Oppenheimer, se le asignó inmediatamente protección policial. Como tiene que soportar escoltas el compositor y director de orquesta Daniel Barenboim.

Los asaltos a pueblos palestinos, como el del pasado 13 de septiembre, apenas suscitan sorpresa. Tras el ataque de un palestino en un asentamiento -un chico resultó herido muy leve- los colonos de Yitzhar, cerca de Nablus, fanáticos entre los radicales, invadieron el pueblo árabe vecino. Dispararon en los pies a un par de lugareños; hirieron a una decena más; causaron destrozos de cristales y depósitos de agua en numerosas viviendas.

El vandalismo quedó registrado en las cámaras de televisión. Y, más grave aún, fue la pasividad absoluta de los soldados. Acompañaban a los colonos en sus asaltos de casa en casa. Sólo miraban. Los colonos regresaron tranquilamente a sus viviendas. Abundan episodios recientes de este cariz: el colono del sur de Hebrón que se acerca a un árabe atado a un poste y le propina una patada en los testículos. También está grabado cómo los uniformados observan la afrenta sin mover un dedo. A veces, los militares y policías son víctimas. Los colonos más fanáticos no se arredran ante nada. Han agredido a agentes, les han lanzado perros…

Crítico con el fascismo

Sternhell, nacido en Polonia en 1935, ha combatido en las guerras de 1967, Yom Kipur (1973) y en la primera guerra de Líbano (1982). Es uno de los expertos de mayor renombre a escala mundial en las investigaciones sobre el fascismo. Su madre y su hermana fueron asesinadas por el régimen nazi. Sionista convencido, pero en absoluto un propagandista, había recibido amenazas por teléfono. Sus posiciones políticas son anatema para los fundamentalistas judíos.

“De hecho, el sionismo fue un movimiento de conquista, y todos los medios se permitían para lograr el objetivo”, escribió en un artículo publicado en el diario Haaretz en agosto de este año. Y añadía: “Sin embargo, lo que era esencial, y por tanto justificado en los días anteriores a la fundación del Estado, está convirtiéndose en una ocupación desagradable, violenta y colonial. El régimen autoritario en los territorios ocupados, la creación de dos sistemas legales, la dedicación del Ejército y la policía al servicio del movimiento de los colonos, el robo de tierras palestinas. Todo ello simboliza no el cumplimiento del sionismo sino su sepultura. Es entre Hebrón y Yitzhar donde los asentamientos están enterrando el Estado judío democrático”.

Estas palabras suponen una afrenta para el movimiento de los colonos, que detesta y agrede a cualquiera que trata de mostrar la deprimente realidad de los territorios palestinos ocupados. En Hebrón, los líderes colonos boicotean las visitas de diplomáticos, políticos, legisladores israelíes o extranjeros. Llegan a llamar “Hitler” a los activistas, muchos de ellos judíos ortodoxos, que dirigen esas visitas. Lanzan té o agua hirviendo a los visitantes. La policía mira. Estos activistas son odiados, despreciados o ignorados por la mayor parte de la sociedad israelí. Los colonos religiosos, salvo rarísima excepción, son una casta intocable. Conviene no tomar a la ligera sus amenazas. Uno de ellos, Yigal Amir, asesinó al primer ministro Isaac Rabin en 1995.

Condenas al atentado

Diputados del centro-izquierda y la izquierda israelí salieron a la palestra para condenar el atentado perpetrado por ese grupo de ultranacionalistas mesiánicos. “El ataque al profesor Sternhell es un acto cobarde y terroristas de quienes carecen del sentido de la justicia”, afirmó Ofir Pines-Paz, dirigente laborista. Curiosamente, el presidente de este partido y ministro de Defensa, Ehud Barak, ha sido diana de las críticas de Sternhell. “Ehud Barak”, escribió el docente en el citado artículo, “es la persona que soporta la responsabilidad por la alianza entre los colonos y las fuerzas de seguridad. Debemos poner fin inmediatamente y de una vez por todas a esa cultura de la violencia que domina los territorios (ocupados), una cultura que nutre los crímenes de los judíos y el acoso diario a la población civil palestina”.

“Mejor que no nos hablen de que son sólo unas malas hierbas… Estos actos secuaces y peligrosos son el resultado de una aproximación reacia a ver la maldad de quienes ejercen violencia contra soldados, policías y contra todos los que discrepan de la brutalidad de las posiciones de la extrema derecha”, declaró el presidente del izquierdista Meretz, Haim Oron.

Sin embargo, las culpas, a juicio de Sternhell, no recaen únicamente en la derecha israelí. “La derecha al completo y la mayoría de la izquierda tienen la responsabilidad por la creación gradual del desastre en que la sociedad israelí está revolcándose”, opinó el intelectual sobre la empresa colonizadora de Cisjordania. Una misión que nunca se ha detenido, y que el Gobierno de Ehud Olmert, lejos de frenarla, ha impulsado en los últimos meses, desde el comienzo de las negociaciones con los palestinos tras la conferencia de Annapolis, en noviembre de 2007.

Yigal och Larissa är utan tvekan Israels mest avskydda celebs. Men ändå – celebs. Först var det storyn om att de inte fick gifta sig och de gjorde alla möjliga religiösa cirkuskonster för att kunna gifta sig “på håll”, alltså utan att vara i samma rum samtidigt, sedan var det storyn om ifall Yigal skulle tillåtas göra Larissa med barn, och i så fall hur, och just nu handlar det om ifall Yigal ska få en dags ledigt från fängelset för att kunna närvara vid sin sons brit (omskärelseceremoni, åtta dagar efter födseln såvida inga komplikationer som gulsot etc har tillstött). Sonen beräknas att födas om drygt en vecka.

Det handlar alltså om Yigal Amir, som 1995 mördade premiärminister Yitzhak Rabin, och hans särbo Larissa Trimbobler. För någon vecka sedan publicerades en opinionsundersökning som visade att runt 50% av den religiösa befolkningen i Israel anser att det inte är bevisat att Yigal Amir sköt Rabin, och över en tredjedel anser att han bör benådas omedebart.

Diskussionen handlar alltså egentligen inte om Yigal Amir som person och hans rättigheter, utan om hur folk ser på Rabinmordet – och därmed också hur de värderar Israels demokrati, debatten kring fredsprocessen och inställningen till Osloavtalen. Yigal Amir är en symbol, precis som Baruch Goldstein. Men till skillnad från “Baruch Hagever” (obs ironi) så kommer Amir förr eller senare släppas fri.

I met Yitzhak Rabin in the Israeli Parliament in 1982 during Hanukkah. I was able to talk with him briefly and mention I was associated with Ambassador College in Pasadena, California.

That was a tactful way of saying I’m a Christian since I knew he personally knew Herbert W. Armstrong and the Worldwide Church of God, including the Plain Truth magazine. Herbert Armstrong had formerly presented him with a gift of Steuben crystal.

I was a volunteer at Kibbutz Ramat Yohanan at the time, in Northern Israel near Haifa. Just so happens Yitzhak Rabin had lived there for over a year in the late ’50s.

I initially considered Prime Minister Rabin – born in Jerusalem – a traitor for surrendering too much to sworn Arab enemies who had not changed their goal of genocide, only their tactics; for going against clear security concerns he once expressed. (I was in a cafe in Jerusalem when he was shot in Tel Aviv). I refused to attend his funeral, although I had attended the funeral of Meir Kahane, former Israeli parliament member and rabbi, some years before.

Later I found out Yitzhak Rabin was apparently being pressured by the dark powers that be to continue to go against what he knew was wrong and that he resisted and was therefore MURDERED by them for coming to his senses. Shimon Peres came to power over the dead body of Yitzhak Rabin.

I do not believe Yigal Amir murdered Rabin. ( I’ve met Avishai Raviv several times at demonstrations – he’s the government agent provocateur who goaded Yigal Amir to murder Rabin). Yigal Amir is a patsy, the fall-guy, as is thoroughly expounded upon in Who Killed Yitzhak Rabin? by Barry Chamish, his first book that broached the subject and clearly indicts the traitor and murderer suspect Shimon Peres (whose Hebrew name appropriately means vulture).

I repeatedly condemn Shimon Peres as a kapo of compromise, a prostitute who serves his German-Jesuit EU masters, a traitor who has sold and is selling out Jews, Jerusalem and Israel and say as much in my book Beyond Babylon: Europe’s Rise and Fall. I am on public record against his perfidy and continue to expose him. He was the Bolshevik in charge during my unjust deportation, who was very much aware of an article published in Jerusalem where I mention the EU plans for Jerusalem’s occupation.

The Israeli Secret Police (six men interrogated me) had a computer disk with Beyond Babylon on it and said many would read it and examine it during their investigation of me during their wild goose chase. I told them to make sure then Prime Minister Shimon Peres read it.

New evidence further PROVES Yigal Amir did not kill Yitzhak Rabin. It’s past time Israelis demand: REOPEN THE RABIN FILE. And now with the release of the Kempler video, many are doing just that!
