Si Courtney Love se hubiera casado con Yngwie , ella hubiera sido quien se pegara el tiro. Todo un genio creativo y de carácter, virtuoso y egomániaco a partes iguales…y su virtuosismo es desproporcionado, Yngwie Malmsteen fué en su momento todo un revolucionario dentro del mundo de la guitarra. Influenciado (es una manera de decirlo) por Richie Blackmore ,hasta el punto de trabajar con casi todos los músicos que acompañaron a Richie ( se rumorea que está grabando un disco con la siguiente encarnación de Rainbow… es broma ), nuestro hombre grabó alguno de los mejores discos de Hard Rock virtuoso y melódico nunca compuestos . Se le considera el creador del neoclásico , no en vano gracias a el surgieron infinidad de guitarristas que llevaron su propuesta más allá aún si cabe , aunque algunos de ellos consiguieron evolucionar y desarrollar un estilo propio. Ese es uno de los hándicaps de este hombre, comienza a ser repetitivo ( también es una manera de decirlo, de acuerdo…hace mucho que se repite), pero sus seis primeros discos , y si me apurais hasta el séptimo son unas auténticas joyas. Quizás le haya faltado grabar algún disco con Dio…pero…nunca es tarde

Eu sincer recunosc ca doar de 2-3 ani imi dau interesul in Halloween mai mult decat intr-o zi normala. Exista unele aspecte carora parca le dau atentie mai cu multa placere , precum merele coapte si vinul fiert care le consum intre timp ce scriu acest post , ascultand muzica care vreau sa v-o prezint si voua , celor interesati.

Privind aspectul muzical al acestei sarbatori ( da , pentru mina exista aspect muzical pentru fiecare clipa ) , trebuie sa va impartasesc ca exista un tip de muzica , cu o tematica oarecum legata de Halloween care ma face sa ma simt bine si o ascult cu mult mai multa placere in acest timp al anului.

Greetings in the Name of Jesus Christ. You know, we all make mistakes, myself included, and we have to learn from those mistakes. And the only way to be forgiven sin is through the blood of Jesus Christ. However, we must also confess those sins in order for this to happen.

My sin was a childhood sin, and it happened the day Jimi Hendrix died. When I heard the news, I actually jumped up and down, and rejoiced. I was six years old; I didn’t know any better. He had, as we all know, unfortunately, died from choking on his own vomit after overdoing on a German Quaalude, not knowing that German Quaaludes were four times stronger than American Quaaludes. But I, knowing relatively little about life, rejoiced at his death, what I now know, many years later, 39 years and change, to be sin. I missed the moral mark. Blessed enough, that night, Jimi Hendrix came up in conversation between my dad and I, and I expressed a hatred for him and that I was happy that he had died. To me, at the time, he was just a hippy who took drugs, and I believed he deserved to die, but my dad took me aside, and said, “Jim, you don’t ever wish anyone dead.” I can’t remember my verbal response at the time, but my dad saved my life, and I don’t recall ever doing such a thing again. Thank God and Jesus Christ for my dad’s wisdom!

I didn’t, however, until tonight, know enough to confess it as sin, and I believe my blog is as good a forum as any in which to do it. I humbly apologize to God, Jesus Christ, the Hendrix Family, and even our precious Jimi Hendrix himself, who now is in heaven. Thank heaven’s that through the blood of Jesus Christ, my sin is washed away. Amen.

It is written in the Bible, “God has promised to turn all things for the good for those who love Him.” Well, as it would turn out, a few years after the death of Jimi Hendrix, I, too, became a guitarist. I was twelve years old. It was in 1976. And, I will tell you, some people think very high of my playing of the guitar, saying things of me such as, “He is a fantastic guitarist.” In fact, in my hometown, Macomb, Illinois, where I was born, I am, in the eyes of some, considered the best. Hallelujah! But let me continue.

When I was in my mid-twenties, I ended up doing one of Jimi’s songs, “Manic Depression.” A few years later, I converted to Christianity. I was happy in Jesus Christ and God by the Holy Spirit. But, about a year after I converted, life itself went awry for me, and I became miserable, and I didn’t know why, and I went into a miserable state of manic depression, and it lasted for many years, until tonight. I realized all that I have told you was the reason. It is written in the Bible, “According to the fruit of his lips is a man satisfied with good things, as surely as the work of his hands rewards him.” But it is also written, “All sin must be punished.” So, according to what I believe from the Bible, I believe, while he put off my punishment until I was old enough and strong enough to endure being punished for my sin, God, until I realized the truth, punished me for that very sin from when I was six years old. Whenever our Father reproves us, it is for sin, whether small or great. After I became a Christian, I felt bad about my having rejoiced over Jimi’s death. But until tonight, I didn’t know what to do. I have been in psychiatric counseling for manic depression for years, but it wasn’t until I realized the truth that I felt free. So, in light of the truth, I promise to do Jimi Hendrix justice as best I can, so help me God, through Jesus Christ.

A bit of an irony occurred the day Jimi died. Yngwie Malmsteen wept, and took up the guitar, and now is famous, and I am, to now, obscure. While I am not a great fan of Yngwie, I must, in obedience to the Bible, consider him a better man than I. Blessed are they who weep, for they shall later laugh, and blessed are they who mourn for they shall be comforted. To be sure, through manic depression, I paid some heavy dues, but thank God, I am free through the truth. Jesus said, “The truth shall set you free; everyone who sins is a slave to sin, but if the Son sets you free, you will be truly free indeed.” Well, I now know the truth, and I hope I have been plain enough in what I believe concerning my sin that my testimony is understandable. I also, dear friends, hope you can find it in your hearts to forgive me, you who know and love the immortal Jimi Hendrix and his music.

Nu am obiceiul sa pun doar un simplu video pe blog din cauza ca mi-i s-ar parea extrem de plictisitor si mie si cititorului dar de data asta fac o exceptie.

Nume grele ale muzicii rock si metal putin mai in varsta , Dio , Judas Priest , Iron Maiden si multi altii , au facut o colaborare din care a iesit o piesa heavy metal minunata… voci puterrnice , nervoase , solouri de chitara de pe marte si o linie melodica geniala.

To these people who insist on fabricating entire genres based on a single album (remember Battles’ Mirrored?): the last time I checked, nobody’s dad wanted to listen to Nels Cline’s guitar howl and grind for a full minute during a one-note interlude. Or if they do, they’ve probably got interesting taste in music that extends well beyond the experimental confines of Wilco (The Album), which, if you were wondering, isn’t far. Instead, it would appear Wilco has graciously accepted their place as a band with a camel on their album cover. A camel with a party hat on.

Guitarist Nels Cline is to Wilco, this late in their career, a technical godsend. On the albums, it’s uncontested, but his rangy presence on stage, even, is a unifying and wondrous thing to behold. Throughout Wilco – and even moreso on Sky Blue Sky, for that matter, his mastery over the guitar is absolutely mind-blowing, and not in an Yngwie Malmsteen type of way. See, those types of guys — and don’t think this list doesn’t include Steve Vai, Joe Satriani, Eric Johnson, etc. — are really little more than solo jocks, with every miserable track they write another divine platform for them to grandstand on until their audience is visibly glowing with admiration. Worse still, their followings are disgustingly loyal, and at the same time, not at all the kind of people you want to have in your corner (think of Mike Tyson’s grinning, tattooed face holding up signs reading “Free Kobe;” thanks, but no thanks, buddy). At any given concert (read: recital), you’d need a palm counter to keep track of all the t-shirts covered in sundry guitars with phrases like “So Many Choices, So Little Time,” and “Life Is Guitar, The Rest Is Just Details.” Ok, we get it – you learned how to finger-tap. Ladies, please, keep your shirts on!

Though Nels has a relatively reserved arsenal for a man of his ability, the crowd simply can’t get enough, and frequently egg him on between songs. It’s really no wonder: aside from being a prodigiously talented individual, he is a magnetic stage personality. He flails his limbs wildly during interludes, kicking his heels out sideways as he abuses the tremolo bar to wrestle out his trademark fluttering vibrato (“One Wing”). It’s as if he is the guitar solo made manifest, acting outwardly whatever internal passion his hands cannot convey. He owns the music and loves it simultaneously; it is a delight to watch. At least, it’s a lot more delightful than watching fanboys expel shuddering hyperbole on the merits of Surfing With The Alien.

You can almost see the wizened band members shaking their heads and chuckling to themselves when bandleader Jeff Tweedy presented them with “Wilco (The Song).” Gleefully smug and casually self-referential, the lyrics are oddly comforting: “tired of being exposed to the cold / the stare of your stereo / put on your headphones / before you explode / Wilco / Wilco / Wilco’ll love ya, baby.” Just as quickly as it began, the bizarre band-name-as-title-track is off the stage, and Wilco is bathing the listener lovingly in brushed acoustic strings and harpsichord pangs. “Deeper Down” goes in fits and starts, pausing between phrases to suss out the weight of Tweedy’s plaintive phrasing. Other highlights include the Feist feature “You And I,” and “Sonny Feeling,” an ambling alt-country rocker.

Nothing, of course, matches the the brutal deconstruction of “I Am Trying To Break Your Heart” that Wilco is so famous for. Not all of it is lost yet, however. It might be the one holdout track, but the band spends the latter part of “Bull Black Nova” investigating a single note suspended over what might be their funkiest bass groove yet. The band shrieks and wails as Tweedy, riddled with desperation, musters “it’s in my hair / there’s blood in the sink / I can’t calm down / I can’t think.”

And after fifteen loyal years, fans have come to terms with Tweedy’s relatively sedate nature on-stage. Any action he performs, that in any universe could be considered even slightly funny, is instantly made hilarious because Jeff Tweedy’s doing it, and that in itself is half the charm of whatever rare between-song banter happens to take place. When guitarist Pat Sansone steps forward and raises his guitar demonstratively aloft in his best Pete Townshend, the audience doesn’t bat an eye. Jeff Tweedy trades shirts with a crowd member, however, and they cheer and holler as if he’s cured some virulent disease.

All of this talk of the band and so little about the actual music probably leaves the reader wondering: is there any meat to the review, or indeed, to the record itself? In fact, the essence of the record is best conveyed with an understanding about the band. Not a forgiving understanding of the elderly, mind you; this is not a list of excuses for the band’s shortcomings in its members’ middle age years. In short, Wilco is not a failure at innovation, it’s a success at dignified folk-rock craft. Wilco has yet again asserted their territory as a dependably enjoyable group of musicians; they have all the technical ability of a group of studio players, combined with the posture and creativity of a road act. The best part is, they don’t veer toward the cloying pseudo-spirituality of so many aged rockers still trying to hogtie the intangible – their irretrievable youth.

So, really, the main difference between Sky Blue Sky and Wilco (The Album) is not so much the music, but that the fans (and perhaps the band members) have accepted that Wilco is simply a band embracing a mature eminence. What’s more, they still have a leg up on many Top 40 rock groups — most of them in their 20s and 30s — and they also still have a lot of fun doing what they do. Wilco (The Album) is a success partially because it’s well-written, but mostly because it’s delivered with such comfort and confidence, in the studio and on stage.

Petrucci bersama Dream Theater merilis album pertama When Dream dan Hari Unite 1987. Petrucci juga dipercaya untuk menggunakan produk-produk dari DiMarzio (pickups), Ernie Ball (strings), Axess Elektronik (foot controller), Boss (effects), Dunlop (plectrum, efek wah), dan Mesa Boogie (lemari, amplifiers). Solo gitarnya lagu Under a Glass Moon dimasukkan dalam 100 solo gitar terbaik sepanjang masa. Petrucci telah ditampilkan di majalah Guitar Player edisi Oktober 2007. Total Guitar majalah mahkota Petrucci sebagai “Guitarist of the Year 2007″. GuitarOne bahkan menempatkan John Petrucci di peringkat ke-9 “Greatest Shredder of All Time.”

Petrucci kehidupan pribadi tidak berbeda dengan kehidupan orang-orang seperti biasa. Petrucci memiliki istri bernama Rena Sands. Petrucci bertemu dengan Rena pada tahun 1989. RitaAKARena adalah gitaris band metal, Meanstreak, perempuan. Mereka menikah pada tahun 1993. Sampai sekarang, Rena Petrucci dan telah memiliki tiga anak itu, kembar Samantha dan Reny, dan Kiara. Menariknya, sama seperti Petrucci, beberapa personil Dream Theater yang juga menikah dengan personil lainnya Meanstreak. Seperti Mike Portnoy yang menikah dengan Marlene Apuzzo dan John Myung dengan Lisa Martens. Dalam waktu luangnya, selain Petrucci bermain seperti mengahabiskan waktu dengan bercanda bersama keluarganya, liburan, ski, menonton film dan gerak badan.

Podem dizer que ele é chato, arrogante, que só sabe fritar nos solos de guitarra, sem feeling, etc.. Mas ainda sim, eu curto as músicas dele e curto os solos dele.

Esse cd, pra mim, é o melhor dele, melhores vocais e melhores solos. Músicas bonitinhas do tipo “I’d Die Without You” que começa com um belo solo de violão e que mais pra frente um solo fritado do Yngwie (óbvio) e a música possui um excelente vocal. Riffs marcantes como a da música “Vengeance”, que também, começa com um solinho maneiro de violão, mas que depois como numa explosão, passa para a guitarra cheia de distorção, e lógico tem um solo fudidão.

Bom, é isso aí, espero que vocês curtam as músicas desse guitarrista.
