I like the anime, though I do have  some complaints.  But I’ll probably discuss it in my main anime blog, not here.

In an update to my previous post, now I’m liking Tenshi ni Nachatta.  The OST for the new Macross F movie isn’t out yet, but I’m already anticipating it.  Thank God that Yoko Kanno is in charge of the music, I’ve really become a fan of hers now.  Before Macross F, the only music I really liked from her was her work in Ghost in the Shell SAC.  Now, the Macross F soundtrack is really up there in the list of anime music that I like.

So, one story I’ve been following pretty closely on joblo.com over the last few months is that actor Keanu Reeves has plans for a film version of the fairly popular  anime series, Cowboy Bebop. The 1998 series takes place in the year 2071 and follows a motley crew of space bounty hunters on their ship, Bebop as they chase after criminals with big bounties that they never seem to get. As the series progresses, we slowly get bits and pieces about their individual pasts and learn how they ultimately ended up as an unlikey gang of 4 (plus the dog, Ein).

In an interview with MTV, Reeves said that Peter Craig has written a draft of the script but he is now re-writing it because Fox said the original was so good “it would cost half a billion dollars.”

I have mixed feelings about this. I am a pretty big fan of the Cowboy Bebop series, I’ve watched it about four or five times in its entirety. It is beautifully written, the characters are unique, the soundtrack blends jazz, blues, some classical, pop, lots of great stuff that fits in perfectly with the scenes. Basically, the series is perfect just the way it is and I know this is typical of fanboys and girls but I’m mostly expecting this movie to butcher the series. Anime just does not make for good live action film so far (i.e. Dragonball Evolution) Plus, I do not think that Keanu Reeves is right for the part of the lead character Spike Spiegel. You may disagree with me but I just don’t find him to be an impressive actor and he really doesn’t look much like Spike at all.

However, the good news is that in a June  interview with Peter Craig and Anime Vice, Craig said that Sunrise studio, which produced Bebop will be “very much invloved” with the film. He also said he was keeping in touch with Shinichiro Watanabe, the director the  of the series and had “recieved a very detailed letter, which I’ve consulted regularly.” He mentioned that producer “[Erwin] Stoff and Fox are already discussing production designers that can reproduce the look of Cowboy Bebop as closely as possible.”

I do trust Sunrise and Watanabe’s judgement, I just hope that a lot of the important plot details from the series don’t get cut from the film. And it would be great if they used Yoko Kanno’s music in the film, as they did in the series.

Hoy me gustaría compartir con vosotros la magnífica música de Macross Plus, de una calidad ciertamente impresionante y con una variedad y originalidad de temas como solo Yoko Kanno sabe dotar a una banda sonora para que no sea simplemente buena o muy buena, sino sublime. A destacar temas ya convertidos en clásicos como Voices, SANTI-U, After, in the Dark / Torch Song, Idol Talk o Wanna Be An Angel. Si os gusta disfrutar de la música capaz de provocar un sinfín de sensaciones diferentes, y además de sorprendernos a cada nueva pieza que escuchamos en el disco, esta banda sonora sin duda hará las delicias de vuestros oídos.

Aquí os dejo, el mejor opening con la mejor canción que jamás haya visto en una película de dibujos animados. ¿Disney? ¿Dreamworks? ¿Pixar? ¡Anda ya, hombre!

Yesterday with some of my best friends I watched the movie „Kamikaze Girls“ (Shimotsuma Monogatari). I really love this movie about the friendship of a lolita-girl and a yankee-girl. It’s pretty funny, but also very touching.
I’m happy that my friends liked this movie, too!!

My favorite song out of this movie is “She Said” by Rin Oikawa.
I really love her sweet voice. And I love the content of the song. It’s somehow said, but has a happy end finally… I often have to cry when I listen to it or sing it.

It’s a song you really have to listen to!

I will probably buy this collection album since I’m a big fan of Yoko Kanno music.  And for about 41$  you get almost all the best songs that she have created.So if you are a fan of her works then “Space Bio Charge” would be a great addition to you collection especialy that you get 3CDs (48 tracks) for not so high price. I only have Macross Frontier, Ghost in the shell:S.A.C. and Lovers only (from vision of the Escaflowne) CDs so it’s very good option for me ^^ .

L’histoire se passe dans un futur indéterminé. Les loups ont disparu depuis 200 ans. Du moins, c’est ce que croient les hommes. Mais la légende dit que certains d’entre eux ne sont pas morts et qu’ils vivent au milieu des hommes, dont ils peuvent prendre l’apparence. Elle dit également qu’un paradis, Rakuen, existe quelque part au bout du monde, et que seuls les loups sont capables de le trouver…

Wolf’s Rain est moi, c’est un peu une histoire d’amour qui date. La raison est simple: c’est mon premier anime. En effet, j’aurai pu tomber plus mal. Après la génération DBZ et Saint Seiya, j’ai connu un passage à vide.

Et là surgit la bande de loups qui me replongea dans la japanimation pour des années. L’histoire est à lire en 2 fois car elle n’est pas si simple. Wolf’s Rain est avant tout un message fort sur le fait que l’humanité court à sa perte. Dans cet anime, les hommes ne peuvent plus accéder au Paradis (Rakuen) car ils ont perdu l’espoir et ont abandonné tout ce qui leur était cher. Dans ce monde apocalyptique, au décor saisissant, la solitude est omniprésente.

Les loups sont persécutés car ils peuvent trouver les portes du Rakuen. Pour éviter de devenir des cibles trop faciles, les derniers loups ont acquis la capacité de se faire passer pour des hommes. Voilà donc le 2ème message, celui de la tolérance. Bien que Kiba, le héros, semble haïr les hommes au plus haut point, c’est en réalité par vengeance. Il n’est que la conséquence de la cruauté humaine et en opposition parfaite avec le vieux, qui déteste les loups autant que Kiba déteste les hommes.

Ce point le rend intéressant, tout comme ses compagnons. Ils sont tous différents car ne vivent pas la persécution de la même façon. Tsume est froid et détaché mais vit parmi eux en les utilisant. Toboe est plus un chien qu’un loup car il les aime mais son côté naïf est vite insupportable. Hige fait un peu la même chose que Tsume mais cache une chose. Le seul hic est le méchant dont on ne sait pas grand chose car il n’apparait que rarement. De plus, son histoire n’est pas claire mais surtout moins intéressante.

Mais que serait Wolf’s Rain sans sa musique, composée par la talentueuse Yoko Kanno. Autrement dit, c’est de la haute volée. Les musique sont emplies de tristesse, de désespoir et de mélancolie et touchent directement au coeur. De plsu, Steve Conte, dont j’ai déjà parlé dans cet article, est le co-auteur de l’opening. At last, with Macross Frontier Nyan Tama my April loot is complete.  About month ago I started watching Macross Frontier, it is my first anime from Macross universe and I have to say that it’s great. It have beautiful animation, nice story, interesting characters and excellent music composed by Yoko Kannno. I decided to buy this 2 CD album since it is the a complete compilation  of opening-ending themes and insert songs of Macross Frontier. This album also features unreleased songs of the series. So it was a “must-buy” for me and since I lately don’t have much money to buy both soundtracks from this series so the Nyan Tama was the best choice for the beginning.  My little review of this album will be posted as soon as possible ^^ .

Ce nom ne vous dit rien? Rien d’étonnant et pourtant, les fans d’animés ont déjà entendu au moins une de ses chansons.

Steve Conte est le leader de “The Contes“, un groupe dont fait partie son frère, inconnu en France. Si Steve est connu, c’est pour ses nombreuses collaborations avec avec Yoko Kanno. Et oui, ce chanteur à la voix grave a participé aux OSTs de Wolf’s Rain (dont il a fait l’opening notamment), Ghost in the Shell et l’énorme  Cowboy Bebop (rien que ça). Prétant sa voix à pas mal de chansons, il est la voix de Yoko Kanno. Parfois, ils travaillent ensemble sur les chansons.

Même s’il n’est connu, j’aime beaucoup ce qu’il fait. Voilà des exemples de musiques que vous pourriez connaitre.
