A press conference was held in Milan at 10 Corso Como presenting the Spring/Summer 2013 capsule collection by Galitzine, created by Sergio Zambon as creative director. The press conference was moderated by Silvia Venturini Fendi, glad of having acted as a catalyst, getting the main purpose of her role as President of Altaroma: to give a showcase to emerging fashion designers – as Sergio Zambon – and promote a dialogue and synergies between them and the celebrated Rome fashion houses. In fact this action is what has given to the creative alchemy “Limited/Unlimited, Edition-Re-edition”, the exhibition where Sergio Zambon interpreted the pyjama by Galitzine.

Later Sergio Zambon talked about the project, “as a re-educational approach for the customer” which is divided in three showcases, including 20 items: the first one is everyday wear, made of cotton, popeline and crépon, inspired by the Bruno Munari’ s geometries, having a palette of colors including white and “ink”, a mix between blue carbon paper and charcoal; the second one “tomato classic” features damasks and the third one is more couture, featuring white, greige, lime and black along with embroideries, Swarovski appliqués and resin punk studs, including also a capsule collection of shoes.

 The easiest way to add a print to your look – a button up.  The reason being is that you can use layers to play down it’s boldness.  Throw a henley or sweater/cardigan over to only add just a peek, pair under a blazer for a stronger taste, or rock solo on top for the whole shebang.  I also love the denim of this shirt.  This is super in right now, so it makes it even more of a must have.  Pair with darker denim, trousers, colored pants – you name it, this shirt goes with it.

If you want to keep your prints less noticeable, try a printed accessory.   This shoe is the perfect hint of bold to add to your look and it also gives some solid edge.  Rock these with a great pair of jeans or trousers, or for an edgier look pair with a great pair of shorts.  You can also wear slimmer denim and keep the high top unlaced with your cuffs tucked in.  Other great printed accessory options: ties, scarves, hats and bags.

Ok, so printed pants aren’t for everyone but just because they’re printed doesn’t mean they have to be in your face.  I don’t know if you can see it in this picture, but these chinos are printed.  With polkadots.  And they look pretty fucking rad if you ask me.  You can really wear these with anything, but why not start with a great button down and some awesome oxfords, or pair with a blazer and a great graphic tee.  Don’t be afraid of printed pants and for those of you who want a bolder look, they make those too.

 There’s something very sophisticated about this cardigan, even with the loud print.  Definitely a great layer piece to have in your closet for when the weather gets cooler.  Wear just like any other cardigan you own and play with your layering here – try over different colored tees and shirts, everything from super casual to really formal.

 I love me a printed polo on a guy.  It just says something about his personality and it usually means fun.  This shirt doesn’t take itself too seriously and neither should the guy wearing it.  Can be great for work with some tailored trousers, perfect for day drinking with some colored chino shorts, and just as fitting for night with jeans and some brogues.

P.S. there is a REALLY AMAZING polo with martini glasses and cars on it that is currently only available in an XL on this site (find it here).  For those of you who don’t wear this size, I suggest you keep an eye out for when it restocks.  Trust me, you’ll thank me later.

Thursday is my favorite day among a week, because weekend is just around the corner . I am very excited that a long time girl-friend of mine will come over to visit us this weekend! Hopefully it is dry, and I can share some pictures here!

I am wearing the new purchase of Kate Spade leopard print silk skirt today (thick silk with full lining)! To match the color theme, I wear Anne Fontaine fitted shirt, white with black trimmed ruffles. I debated between black pumps and flats: pumps are chic, but flats are more comfy…… Flats won the battle today!

These pointed laced-shoes are the purchase from YOOX couple weeks ago. I have been waiting for a relative cool day to wear them, lol. Very comfy (soft leather, made in Italy), and true to size. I notice that pointed shoes are super in this season, from high heels to kitten heels to flats!

 Ok, so these may not be leather but you sure as hell wouldn’t know that just by looking at them!  This classic cut is great because you can pair with with so many different look options – motorcycle boots to heels to flats, feminine tops to flannels to tees, the sky’s the limit here.  These leggings are like your perfect pair of jeans – they don’t take away from the rest of your look, they enhance it.  If you’re looking for leather that can be versatile in your closet, pick these or something similar.

 I’m a sucker for a great flare pant and this leather option is no exception.  These look really chic and can be great for both day and night (and if you work in a fashion forward office then they’re great even for work), so if you have the money to spare I would say pick these up.  Can be worn with a great chunky cardigan or sweater, with a button-up, or with a sweet rocker tee.  What’s great about this style is that it’s easily wearable – skinny, crop fits – especially in leather – tend to intimidate people so this option is not only more approachable but super flattering on many different body types.

I’m totally digging the gold zipper detail on these pants.  There’s nothing over the top about them, but they add such great hardware detail.  You definitely want to rock these out for night – pair with a great tuxedo blazer or a feminine sheer shirt and some sky high killer heels.  Definitely play up the hardware by adding some gold and/or silver necklaces and some chunky bangles.

Yes, leather pants come in colors other than black, and they look just as fab.  Love the “jean” color of these pants, which makes them easily wearable.  Pair with an ultra feminine blouse for a great night out look or pair with a slouchy boyfriend tee for daytime running around.  Perfect with both heels and flats.

I absolutely love the look of bold jewelry against a plain white tee and denim. It’s become one of the easiest ways for me to look pulled together even on those days when I don’t feel like dragging myself out of bed. There really is no excuse for not looking your best.
