Alright Blue!!
Ken Zi:Kill is one of the best guitarist in the world, and he is also the influence for other guitarist. He had been the adviser for some senior. Almost Zi:Kill fans will love Tusk and follow Zi:Kill member at a band called, “Craze”; but I prefer Ken better. I realize that I do love Zi:Kill’s music, because Ken composed and arranged it. The right style for me should be Ken. I try to collect his solo albums. I put some important songs on Imeem (click to listen), because Imeem is a legal place, and I would like to see people love him as I do, too. A lovely friend on Flickr told me that she loved everyone, because other people like to say the name of only one member. Oh dear, you make me smile.

Why is this Easter Day of Spring 2009?
It is the day I made it. I made it for this day. Easter is really about re-born or all things. Firstly, Jesus Christ’s resurrection; secondly, the blossom; thirdly, it is about the day that bright time and dark time have the same length, so say hello to the sun. All are bright in this day! It is Spring time. I would like to see Ken and his Zi:Kill to be just like this. I want to hear their new music, I want to see their re-union, but now, I just listen to their similar bands. I mean, American alternative rock/ punk, my most favorite genre ever. Zi:Kill is punk, too. In their time, they did not promote themselves that much. All dressed with black suit,.., oh, seems like they have their own perfect world that other people want to get into, and Hide (Hideto Matsumoto) did that. All girls in the world would be so jealous. Hide, you just touched and kissed their charming guy. Hide, you were just a guitarist that the professional (all music professors I know) could not indicate that you or Yoshiki lost the rhythms. Some said that Yoshiki lost his drums rhythm, and some said that Hide lost solo rhythms. Hide, you were with that best guitarist in the world. Right then, no girls would be jealous you, but me. Hide, you loved it as your heart, and I read a lot of Japanese says, although they were from Google translate. Hide, I know you listened to their music, and “Lucky Man” in the solo album of Ken. The right word for Hide, you are the Best Artist Wannabe. You just tried to be Salvador Dali. Or, you just want to be Ms. Hyde to be with your best band. My best band, too. All people’s lives will keep going, but not you for now.

Life, Sex and Death (LSD)

Long Hard Rock Out of Hell ที่เริ่มต้นด้วยเขา Live ครั้งแรกของ Zimmy กับ Manson คือ Nothing Night วันที่ 5 กันยายน 1996 ที่ New York City (NYC) Manson เล่นแบบเดิมที่เรารู้จักกันดี จบเวทีเมื่อไรก็จะทำลายข้าวของ เขาเหวี่ยงขาตั้งไมค์ ไปโดนปลาขิง ผู้เป็นมือกลอง และปลาขิงก็ถูกส่งเข้าโรงพยาบาลทันที

Zim Zum with Marilyn Manson

Zim Zum.

X Japan. Quite possibly the most famous name in Jrock and Visual Kei. And with good reason. As far as the world of Visual Kei is concerned, X Japan is The Godfather. Founded in Chiba, Japan, in 1982, originally under the name X, by drummer Hayashi Yoshiki and vocalist “Toshi” (Deyama Toshimitsu), the band shredded the Japanese indie rock scene with their huge glam-rock hair, androgynous glamor, and balladic, whiny, speed-metal sound.

Although the band started in ‘82, founders Yoshiki and Toshi were both attending high-school at the time, and the band didn’t really get going with lives until ‘85, which were performed with support musicians. In 1986 Yoshiki founded the independent record label Extasy Records as a surefire way of releasing music and supporting their dream. By ‘87 the band had completed its first formal lineup, settling in with Hide (Matsumoto Hideto) on guitar, and Sawada Taiji on bass, and “Pata” as a support guitarist.

The band released its debut album, Vanishing Vision, in ‘88 through Extasy Records, and toured extensively throughout Japan. In ‘89 the band made a big break with the ultra-popular album Blue Blood, which incited the release of several singles, including the all-time favorites Kurenai and Endless Rain. In 1991 the band performed for the first time in the prestigious Tokyo Dome.

By ‘92 the band had become so successful not only in Japan, but worldwide, that they were required to adopt the name X Japan in order to distinguish themselves as a separate entity from the American punk band X. In the same year, bassist Taiji was replaced with bassist Heath.

In 1996 the album Dahlia was released– which would mark the end of X Japan as a band. Vocalist Toshi had already decided to leave the band, and without him, X Japan could hardly continue with dignity, so they decided to split up and pursue their solo activities. They performed for the last time on New Year’s Eve at the Tokyo Dome.

hide ~ December 13th, 1964- May 2nd 1998

Guitarist and sometimes-composer of the band, hide (not to be confused with Hyde of L’arc~En~Ciel/Vamps) was a figurehead for X Japan. As the band progressed and developed, the other members steadily let go of the original Visual Kei emphasis in favor of a more casual, straight rock style. The exception to this rule was hide, whose bright pink hair and ultra-flashy style became a trademark fans would, and will, never forget.

Along with his work for X Japan, hide worked on solo projects (and released several albums and singles), including hide with Spread Beaver and Zilch (based in the US).

Like all of the members of X Japan, hide had become, by their disbandment in ‘97, a rock’n'roll icon. Japan was, then, utterly crushed when his sudden death was announced one year after the band broke up. hide was discovered in his Tokyo apartment, hung from the bathroom doorknob by a towel. His funeral was held in Tsukiji Hongan-ji (a Buddhist temple in the Tsukiji district of Tokyo), and was attended by 50,000 people, 60 of which were hospitalized during the event, and 200 of which were tended to in first-aid tents. Three fans died in copy-cat suicides.

There remains some speculation as to whether hide’s death was an accident or a suicide. Members of X Japan commented that they had often utilized a technique involving a towel and a doorknob/handle as a way of relieving back-pain caused by constant use of a guitar-strap. Former bassist Sawada Taiji suggests that hide may have been attempting to implement this technique and, drunk, passed out and gotten tangled up in the towel.

On May 1st 1999, almost exactly a year following hide’s death, a memorial album was released under the title Tribute Spirits. The album featured covers of hide songs by illustrious names such as fellow first-generation Visual Kei bands Luna Sea and BUCK-TICK. A Hide Memorial Summit concert was held at the Ajinomoto Stadium, where many bands, including X Japan, performed hide’s songs.

(Video: At the 2008 Hide Memorial Summit, X Japan performing together with Luna Sea)

But enough history!

These guys rock, and sorting them neatly into the pages of Jrock text-books would be doing their 15 years of rebellion a vast disservice.

Aside from deciding that Visual Kei was to be crazy and image-driven, X Japan had a massive impact on the music and composition styles. Although classified as a speed/power metal and progressive rock band, they made generous use of balladry, piano, and orchestration. Vocalist Toshi supplied unique vocals characterized by a high-pitched, whiny timbre. Several songs, including the all-time-famous ballad Tears (from the album Dahlia) were written with all-English lyrics, and sung boldly by the iconic vocalist.

Many of their songs passed the 10 minute length, climaxing with the album Art of Life, which contained only the title song, running a whopping 29 minutes. (1993. Art of Life was composed and written by Yoshiki, and performed with the London Philharmonic Orchestra. It was only performed live for three audiences.)

In the 15 years that X Japan was active, the band released 5 studio albums, 6 live albums, 10 compilation albums, 19 singles, and 15 video releases.

The events/meetings of Visual Kei fans in Thailand are always at MBK Center (Mahboonkrong or มาบุญคร

The events/meetings of Visual Kei fans in Thailand are always at MBK Center (Mahboonkrong or มาบุญครอง) every month. MBK is a famous shopping center which has a big space for meeting at the corner of the street. It is near Siam Center, just across the street. You can just imagine of Thai girls dress as Harajuku people. People around the world know that Thai girls are very pretty, so what they will look like, … the prettiest one you saw in Japanese. No lie.

Some Visual Kei bands are so famous in groups of rich teenagers in Thailand, and a lot of Japanese animas do, too. These fans pay a lot of money for their costumes which they wear only in one day. Dir en Grey, Gazette, Miyavi (ex- Dué le Quartz) and D’espairs Ray are very famous currently. Although Malice Mizer is something old, but people always love to dress like them. Mana’s lip is very attractive and unique.

Photo of area around Siam Center by Sw Eden

Nongnut is one of classmates in high school. She got asked to dress with a white-fur costumn, because it was not fit in her friend’s body. Her group liked Hyde, L’Arc~en~Ciel so much. She gave me her drawing of Hyde, and I still keep it. Hyde is considered as the best guy in L’Arc en Ciel. He is who you should talk with and have as a friend.

Right now, let’s cross the street to Siam Center. Several buildings have small rooms for rent. Most of those rooms are for rent. Many teachers rent them and their students have to pay a lot of money to take extra classes. It sounds mean that those teachers do not teach everything they know in the school, because they need more money. Visual Kei fans also rent the rooms, too. They use it for the meeting within their own group for each band. X Japan fans liked to eat some spicy things together. Some big fans of Visual Kei also buy many CD and DVD from Japan and sale them in this place. Most of the discs are second hand, because they already watched them. I walked up and looked around in the latest time I visited Siam Center. A group of teenatures with dark-eyes-make-up watched Yoshiki played his piano.

I know an event that X Japan fans usually do in May 2nd of every year. They will meet at MBK or Siam Center and have some party. They will take a bus or train to Hua Lamphong Temple, which is one of the best place to do Coffin-Offerings. They donate money for the corpses who do not have coffin. They hope all merit to go for Hideto Matsumoto (Hide or 秀人松本), their hero.

Here’s my drawing of Hideto Matsumoto.
I do not usually put something that I do not own the copyright.

I do not usually dress as Visual Kei, but I do dress for Halloween. I had got a reward for the scariest dress. Sometimes, I dressed not for the contest. My close friend and I painted ourselves and walk around our high school. Halloween is my most favorite day of the year. So now, let’s go to class!

A shot from "Faust"

From the world of classical opera we learned that music has the potential to not only be an aural pleasure, but a visual one as well. Through lyrical theme, musical composition, costume and props, a greater theme or story can be expressed trough music. But it doesn’t stop in the opera house. Since the early 1980s Japanese rockers have taken pairing music and visuals to a whole new level. What started as an insane-seeming sub-culture movement became, by the mid 90’s, an established genre, and today, 30 years later, one of the-most-listened-to facets of Jrock.

That genre is what we refer to as “Visual Kei”.

Visual Kei band "Malice Mizer", circa 1997

Let’s start with the name. Visual Kei is a term created by bringing together the English word ‘Visual’ and the Japanese word ‘kei’, which means ‘type’ or ‘style’. Nowadays the term refers almost solely to a genre of Japanese rock music— now that Visual Kei as a genre has become popular and more mainstream, I get the impression that a lot of Western fans want to single out the god-father bands as non-”Visual Kei”. Like how back when “punk” first began there was no “punk”, and now it’s a mainstream style full of posers. But even at the very onset of Visual Kei culture, because of the nature of the genre and the way it effects and is affected by the term Visual Kei, the label existed upon advent.

Dead End: 1984-1999

You see, we’re allowed a sort of grace period by the Japanese language. Look at it this way—alongside sometimes-creepy Visual Kei, there is another Jrock sub-culture which is eternally cheerful, and that is referred to as ‘Oshare Kei’, [en. Fashionable type]. In Japan, when you want to tell someone that they are fashionable, you say, “wow, you got some new boots! So oshare kei!” It would be silly if I got angry and said, “But I’m not the oshare-kei genre of bands and music. Ugh!” The genres happened out of the terms, in a way. Similarly, were you to remark that X Japan was “wow! So visual kei!” Would a true old-school fan scoff and say, “Ugh, Visual Kei? No they’re not. There’s nothing visual there!”?

X Japan

Much the same as the early punk movement, true Visual Kei had and still has no “definition” nor set limits. It is important to understand that Visual Kei is first and foremost a means of expression not only through music, but through image as well. It is at the Visualists’s discretion how he or she chooses to express themselves. Visual Kei is an ultimatum in creativity, and one of its defining points is its lack of boundaries.

However, it is only natural that certain qualifications come into the picture… In the way of trends and obsessive-genre-ization-disorder of today, Visual Kei has found certain parameters and sub-genres exclusive to its scope. Like anything, there is the fluff and filler impossible to evict, ban, destroy, or avoid– but individual creativity and expression is still running strong among Visualists. In a way, the pre-sets and development of stereotyping has encouraged boundaries between what is Visual Kei and what is standard Jrock. Not just every Jrock band with a crazy look is Visual Kei—that’s genre abuse.

In this write-up, although I can’t tell you all the “is” and “isn’t”s of this boundless and extreme genre, I will do my best to sketch out the general idea, as well as define the boundaries that separate Visual Kei from what we know otherwise as Jrock and Jpop.

Luna Sea

Visual Kei is a bit like genealogy in that it has generations. And as the generations became younger and younger, the look changed and developed. That’s why I, as well as many people who write about the Vis Kei movement, choose to differentiate between the generations. I’ve simplified it into a 3-category hierarchy of 1st generation, onward. We could be real jerks and break it down into the quantum level of Visual Kei Generations and Sub Movements, but for clarity’s sake, we’ll use the 3-generation rule here. If you want to get quantum with me, notice how I include release and activity dates in the artist information run-downs….

Back “before” there “was” “Visual Kei”, the pioneer band X appeared– the year…was 1982. For the purpose of disambiguation (due to the existence of the American ’70s band by the same name), they did the obvious thing and clarified who they were by a quick name change– by which they are immortalized: X Japan.

X-Japan

This was “the movement”, “the influx”. X Japan brought to Jrock the heavy yet melodious sound that we are so familiar with today. They brought the extremist fashion and 50% dedication to image. Yeah, they had freaking big hair. They made the glam-metal look popular (for an indie rock band, anyway) and exciting in the Japanese music scene– but they did what the Japanese do with everything they import: they, as one Japanese friend put it, took what Westerners made like monkeys and improved it. They Japanified it.

In the image to the right, you can see the powerful beginnings of what we know now as Visual Kei. The androgyny (especially in Jrock idol Yoshiki [center], the historic appeal, the extreme everything. These were the founding fathers.

They inspired everybody. X Japan brought great momentum to this sub-culture of Jrock, which steadily infected a stream of other great bands. This was Visual Kei’s foundation, when it picked up speed and accelerated into pop-culture. The bands everyone know of as “true” Visual Kei appeared at this time– between 1982 and ‘87: Luna Sea, Buck -Tick, Dead End.

This was the well-spring of Jrock. It began in the ‘80s, and it was a mash-up of imagery and ideas. These bands set the foundation for the use of visual components in Japanese rock music, veering off the beaten path and forging new roads.

Although the look and sound has developed, become refined, and more focused, there was one element that has remained the core spinal column of the Visual Kei aesthetic. This element was essentially ‘beauty for beauty’s sake’. Visualists would like what they liked, would dress how they liked, would act how they liked. They appreciated things as genderless, ageless, anonymous modes of creative expression. There were no concepts such as “I can’t dress that way, I’m a man.” or “We can’t play this song, we’re too hardcore.”
This aesthetic would later become the palette upon which the 2nd Generation would paint the defining portrait of Visual Kei, and sculpt it as an actual genre.

The non-fiction novel “YOSHIKI/佳樹” (published by Kadogawa Shoten, 2,310 Yen) that spells out the dramatic life of YOSHIKI up till now have shocked many with the truth surrounding the mysterious rock star. The interview started from January 1999, and had taken 10 years and over 100 hours. The book has been completed as a “book of shocking revelations,” with eight chapters including a prelude and epilogue, a total of 487 pages.

Since his major debut in 1989, YOSHIKI has hidden his private information such as his real name and birth date and given them out as “X.” Exactly how did the book “YOSHIKI/佳樹” come about?

With growing doubts as the days go by, with the help of Kadogawa Shoten, we were able to interview the author Narumi Komatsu in Tokyo.

“Everybody knows the brillancy of YOSHIKI on stage,” says Narumi Komatsu, “But nobody knew the fact that he is often lonely, and unable to escape a deep sadness,” expressing her feelings upon hearing first-hand from the man himself.

The first meeting with YOSHIKI, the shocking revelations, the chance to write, Narumi Komatsu’s own agony, and happiness…

The truth that is often unknown, was right there.

———Dyed in deep red, there is no longer anyone to comfort me———. Epilogue (P. 481)

It felt like we were finally able to catch a glimpse of the inner side of the phrase that we speak of in our dreams.

According to sanspo:

Yoshiki is recovering of his surgery, recording works has resumed but he’s not able to touch drums yet.

The article also reveal that a new member are going to join Violet UK but he can’t talks about it yet.

In July, YOSHIKI received surgery for his cervical vertebra and is reported to be healthy. Healthy enough for him to resume activities with the project, VIOLET UK. He’s back in the studio and hopes to returning to the stage are now a reality.

When he first came out of the hospital the scar was about 5cm, red and swollen. Now after a month and a half, the scar is red but he feels no pain at all now. Even his doctors are surprised.

Well, we’re not surprised, he can go check up on his race team and put out a whole new jewelry line. How can his doctors be surprised at his recovery. This is YOSHIKI we’re talking about.

Even though we think YOSHIKI needs to retire in the music business, aka stop making music that sounds like a broken record, it’s great that he’s making a full recovery. He’s had that condition for a long time, it’s about time he got that taken care. Ten years of a bad back can force a person to finally seek medical attention wouldn’t you say?

A long standing relationship has been formed between the CEO’s and Oshare Curry as a mutual love for all things visual, and asian. A while ago we’d prepared a decent amount of questions for them, and tried to be as objective and across the board as we could. We adore the fact they’ve brought Jrock into Second Life, and continue to support them in any way possible that we can.

Reiko volunteers once in a while for them, and has just stepped up to the plate today to do some of the second life work that keeps the sim happy! (It’s called being a Dj and playing really good Japanese music!) We just wanted to promote this interview in a great light and tell you how great their site is!

On with the interview!

What made you decide on the name for Kanzen?

Henade: We had brainstormed for a while and I came up with some ideas and kanji relevant to the feeling and theme of Kanzen, and ‘Completely and totally Jrock’ seemed to fit. In the end, it’s all about what rocks you, whether it be Kitty gYm or X Japan, to us that is all that Kanzen is.

Pebbles: I voted yes on Kanzen ni Jrock because I felt it was the embodiment of what our vision for the company was.

We know of course, you guys regularly interact in the music scene, who have you met and who do you think is someone personally, you enjoyed the most?

Henade: I have met a lot of bands as a fan. As a fan, my favorite had to be Die of Dir en grey and Tatsuro of MUCC.

Working, my favorite would be Yumehito and Takehito of Ayabie. I interviewed them for our sister site Jpopexpress.com when they had a US tour last year. They are very friendly, down to earth and just regular guys. Yumehito’s Pokemon knowledge is impressive, to say the least and Takehito had a totally awesome fanboy moment over my story about meeting YOSHIKI for the first time. LOL It was a really fun interview!

Pebbles: I’ve met and worked with a lot of very wonderful artist over the years. I must say I enjoyed all of them.

What are the names of the bands you currently promote?

Henade: Currently, we promote Chronicle, F.size.free, Kaei, REIKON Rebirth and SAI.

Pebbles: REIKON Rebirth and SAI are two Visual Kei inspired bands. They really know how to take their love for Visual Kei and create their own unique versions. Their worth checking out especially if you’re a VK fan!

Henade, I noticed you’ve said before that Pebbles was your boss before Kanzen – what sort of line of work was that, another cool jrock business? ^__^

Henade: Pebbles recruited me as a writer for Jpopexpress.com. JPE is now our sister site and we still work together with them on many things. JPE is a news sight, covering all Asian culture interests. Pebbles and I ran the Jrock department there.

I just wanted to confirm, Henade.. You’re one of the “COOL PARENTS” – You have a “Chibi” and he goes with you to everything. (Unless suddenly someone feeds him mt. dew and chocolate cookies?)

Henade: Yes, Chibi goes with me everywhere. I want him to grow up with a love for the music and understand all the hard work that goes into it all, but also enjoy the end result of it all. Also helps so he is not upset when most of my time is taken up with work, because he knows that he’ll get to meet the artists and help me in the field when the time comes. He’s such a friendly kid that he loves meeting all the new people, whether it be fans, a roadie or the band themselves.

And anyone who gives him Mt. Dew and chocolate cookies, will have trouble from me LOL.

How long have you had a dream per se, to make something like this happen?

Henade: Every child at one point in their life wants to be a rock star, I never wanted to be one –I actually wanted to be an opera singer LOL. Though, I have always been fascinated with the music itself and the inner workings of it all. I am the type who likes to make others dreams come true, the excitement and exhilaration of seeing a live or seeing a band/artists CD out for the first time is something I want to help create.

Pebbles: I think since the minute I was born lol. My dad was a musician and played guitar in a session band. With music being a huge part of life and I being raised around it I begun to develop a fascination with how it was created and the artists who created it. I wanted to know who they were and how they did it. For awhile I had wanted to be a musician to but then I begun to realize what I really wanted was to work with the musicians instead to help make them known. Everyone loves to talk about their favorite bands to their friends and family, I wanted to take it one step further and promote them to the entire world to! Of course at the time I had no idea how I would do that but it was just a dream to be able to. Not until I was much older would I know how to turn my dream into reality.

Do you plan on doing this until you’re your mother’s age? (Lol, I can just hear the answers now!)

Henade: I want to be doing this until all the bands we work with now and in the future have all gone major or otherwise reached their dreams to their fullest potential. (I hope!) There will always be artists wanting our help, and always a new band to help achieve their dreams, so I guess that means forever!

Pebbles: Without a doubt. I want to die peacefully at a very old age after I just interviewed my one billionth band or completed yet another successful tour I put together lol.

How could you or pebbles deal with a parent, or parental figure telling you – out right “They’re all girls, and the music sucks”, but the child or adult in question, loves the music your band put out? (Yes, Reiko has personal experience lol)

Henade: LOL actually, this has happened to me with my own mother. She saw some pictures of one of our bands and asked why the girls were dressed as boys… So, I played a song for her and she said the singer sounded male. I told her they were all males, but the goal of VK was to create a pleasing visual image for the fans, and most VK fans are girls in Japan, so it is meant to catch their attention. VK is about the visual shock of the costumes, make up and then when you hear them or see them perform, you see that it is all just a companion to the music. A really GOOD band, will catch your interest with their visuals, then blow you away with their music and live performance, and make you a fan for life. This is what I told her. She still doesn’t get it, but she is willing to listen to the music now haha.

Pebbles: Even during the days of Elvis Presley parents were cringing at the sites and sounds of their children’s choice of music. As long as music exists this will always be a factor. If a parent were to approach me though I would tell them that I respect their opinion and although they dislike the music, flashy clothes and makeup they must remember that it is a form of freedom of expression. Just like an artist writes lyrics to express themselves.

Do either of you believe there’s a big calling to keep drilling visual kei, or even jrock period to other countries? Even small ones such as New Zealand? (… Kozi was in Wellington in 2003..?)

Henade: Jrock fans are everywhere. We want to bring the music to you, where ever you are, and where ever the bands want to go!

Pebbles: Definitely.

Pebbles, you’re in New York.. is there a distinct difference in the culture of jrock on the east coast, compared to anywhere else in the US?

Pebbles: Not at all. Fans in New York are just as much interested in Jrock as fans in Middle America and the West Coast.

How long have you been involved in a music industry sort of perspective?

Henade: I have only been working professionally in the music industry about a year and a half. I started out as a staff writer, then worked promotions for a few Jrock tours and wrote many interviews. I still have a lot to learn, but between hands on and learning from Pebbles and my other mentors, I am gaining a lot of experience and knowledge quickly.

Pebbles: I’ve been involved since 1998. I worked in the American music industry as a web mistress and promoter for a pop singer. I got involved in the Japanese music industry in 2006 as a researcher and writer for a promotional company.

What brought you to this music, this culture? (Either henade or pebbles, or both!)

Henade: I loved Japanese anime when I was a kid, though I didn’t know what it was until I was much older haha I also listened to DEAD END back in the 80’s when they were licensed in the US. They sang in English, so I didn’t know they were a Jrock band until last year when I helped Pebbles with an interview with Morrie of Creature Creature.

Pebbles: Hearing L’Arc~en~Ciels READY, STEADY, GO play after every episode of Full Metal Alchemist and wondering who these awesome rockin guys were. I had never heard Japanese rock music before so I was intrigued. I went online and YouTubed their name and from there I discovered Gackt, Miyavi, Nightmare and etc… And I’ve been hooked since.

If people are interested in helping out, what’s the biggest criteria besides a love of jrock?

Henade: You have to be able to set your fangirl/boi aside and do what needs to be done in a professional manner. Dedication, time, respect and maturity are also pluses. Experience is also good to have, but we are willing to give anyone a chance who has a genuine love and interest in helping.

Pebbles: What Henade said along with an understanding that this is not an easy job. It takes a lot of time, patience and knowledge.

Would Kanzen Ni Jrock attempt, per se to create concerts in future of bands they promote LIVE on second life? Either via video feed, or audio stream/avatars?

Henade: Yes! We already have a few of our artists moonlighting in SL and are working on getting them set up to meet and talk with the fans. First, we have to get them used to the game, of course. No matter how cool they are IRL, it’s not so cool to walk sideways into walls because you don’t have the hang of the controls yet in SL LOL.

Pebbles: It’s something I would really love to try. It would take a lot of planning and time but I think it could be done successfully.

Or would knj have a chance to think about tribute concerts, like making avatars of jrock stars and having parties of them? (Reiko works for Simplicity Productions, and if KnJ needed I’m sure SP could produce some stuff like this?)

Henade: We are working things like this also. We also want to find bands in SL to come perform live on the stage at the club and hold such live performances often in the future!

Pebbles: Definitely and again with a lot of planning and time this can be done.

Do you foresee a KnJ meet up, in real life between current and future staff?

Henade: Between staff members, yes of course! We would love to meet everyone who has been working so hard for the bands we promote!

Pebbles: Yes, I’d love to meet everyone who has helped build Kanzen up in these few short months to the future staff that will be there years from now.

Can you forgive me, for my lack of solid questions as my mind is still thinking about farm town on facebook, and if my grapes are to waste yet? XD

Henade: XD

Pebbles: Of course lol.

Do you believe Kanzen’s vision, fits under the Visual Asia umbrella? Being that jrock is visual, whether it’s a dark visual, or bright sparkles.. Ice cream and Takeru doing cartwheels?

Henade: VK in any sense is a wide variety of things, in the end, it’s all about the music, and that is what we are about. I think Kanzen’s vision to spread the love and music across the world.

Pebbles: Yes. We have so many different styles of bands from different genres featured on our site.

And dorky question… last but NOT least

What do you feel, is the biggest thing you’ve contributed to the jrock or visual asian culture since Kanzen started?

Henade: I think being an enthusiastic fan with a huge love for the music is my biggest contribution LOL. I share music I like with everyone, even my parents! My neighbors know more about Jrock than anyone else in my town besides me now because I babble excitedly to them whenever they will listen haha.

Pebbles: I think we have helped bridge the gap a slight bit for the lesser known bands by helping them get a little more noticed. I find that when visitors come to our site to read an interview we did with a major artist it helps the more obscure bands get noticed to. I have seen fan bases begin to develop for them as a result .

A big thank you to Hentai and Pebbles, a long with other fans and staff of Kanzen

If you would like to help out Kanzen on Secondl ife, or in Real life just head over to their website:

http://kanzennijrock.net
