There are times, as the mother of sons only, I feel like a visitor in the world of empowered women. Sure, I believe *I* am a strong feminist, but so much talk is about daughters and creating a world where our daughters are free from stereotypes, gender role expectations, and body-image issues. But while daughters are at the forefront no one believes this is just a woman’s issue. Stereotypes of all kinds—gender based, size based, ability based, race based, faith based, ideology based—damage our communities. When we raise children, male or female, free of limits and full of compassion, openness, and acceptance we will have done a good thing.

Yes, feminism is a human issue.
