I am SO excited!!

My Title: Female Bomb Disposal Teams Of Cambodia

The funding body, YourWorldView is looking for a 3 minute trailer of my overall 20 minute university documentary. This will go up on their website and hopefully showcase the work of female landmine clearance workers in Cambodia.

I will be starting up a new blog to focus on my progress with this documentary and the filming I do out in Cambodia, so watch this space…

It was the job of our student group to feedback to the Commonwealth Broadcast Association and to effusion (the web design company) in terms of which designs were the best – what we liked/disliked. Unfortunately I am not allowed to post the designs on JourneyFilm…

I had two meetings with our group at UEA – both with drastically different outcomes! the one group quite liked the designs – and the other were left frustrated, feeling that few if any of our ideas from hours of meetings throughout the year were taken into account. This year I have learnt of the difficulties of working with organisations through my work with the CBA. As I feel frustrated at this moment in time, I have felt this feeling at numerous points throughout the year, on what seems a very long road to reach the first designs in this process. So much red tape means that decisions at times have taken months instead of days, whilst the conflicting objectives of groups involved makes the process very difficult. Our student group at this moment in time seems quite disheartened by our apparent lack of input on what we thought was a ‘student’ initiative’. Hours of meetings and ridiculous amounts of emails do at this point seem to have been pushed aside as those funding this project call the shots. Early days yet though! I am very confident that any issues will be ironed out and designs perfected so to fulfil the potential of this project…

I remain quite positive about the first designs, and feel that we just need to work hard with the CBA to make sure we get the right balance in the final designs… Still very optimistic…
