NBC…fuck NBC. NBC has repeatedly had videos taken off of sites like Youtube for “infringement” (read: fair use, which is something NBC doesn’t like at all) issues. You can find a lot of them on Youtomb.

Jay Leno (I have no problem with Jay Leno, I think he’s great and that the NBC executives treat him like shit) has been doing a segment called Zootube (which is actually the name of a beastiality porn web site, i’m not gonna link to it, but you can Google it) where they show videos of silly animals ‘n shit. I wonder if NBC had to receive express written consent from any of the owners of those videos to be able to show them on a program that receives money for putting advertisements in the content of the show. That’s always been a big thing with NBC, people showing clips of their shows while receiving money from advertisers. Here’s the clip.

Someone should sue NBC, just like they’ve sued other people (with their own lawyers and by way of the RIAA/MPAA as well) for doing exactly the same thing.

Also, Zootube. LOL. NBC endorses and promotes beastiality.

Nella homepage vengono mostrati i video che con costanza vengono scartati.
YouTube non è mai andato molto d’accordo con le leggi sul copyright. Benché formalmente le rispetti, sono moltissimi i video caricati dagli utenti sulla piattaforma che riprendono senza autorizzazione materiale protetto dal diritto d’autore,ed è proprio questo motivo che ha spinto il Massachusset Institute of Technology a creare Youtomb.

YouTomb is a research project designed by the MIT Free Culture group to track video take downs on YouTube. To succeed, the team needed to track every single video on YouTube… which is close to impossible. Instead, they built several “explorer” scripts to track what videos were interesting. One explorer tracks all of YouTube’s lists: recommended, featured, most active, and more. Another explorer picks up every video submitted to YouTube, and a third crawls Technorati.

The explorers just find the videos; a separate group of scanner scripts checks the current status of videos. It checks both the new videos and ones that have been killed to see if they return. YouTomb archives every video it finds. They display the thumbnail of the video under fair use, but they’re still determining whether they can display each video in full.

YouTomb is tracking a little more than 282,000 videos right now and maintain a public MySQL snapshot for anyone that wants to build their own tools. The code is also open source. They’ve been archiving all their historical data too, all 70 million rows of it.

They’ve started trending country censorship. Germany, Poland, and France all have hate speech bans, so any video with a swastika can’t be viewed there. Thailand blocks anything that impugns the king. Crank That is blocked in 200+ countries.

YouTomb got a lot of press when it was initially released. The team feels that this is the result of a clear interface. They encourage others to take the time to present data clearly. As a final note, they pointed out that you can always file a DMCA counterclaim to get your videos restored.

Analisando o YouTomb percebe-se que a maioria dos vídeos removidos do You Tube foi realizado por atentarem contra o copyright e/ou conteúdos inadequados (em grande parte pornográfico). Tal análise é possível através do YouTomb que permite responder quem pediu a exclusão, em que categoria ele estava e quanto tempo o clipe ficou no ar.

De acordo com IMaster, o projeto “dedo-duro” foi criado pelo grupo MIT Free Culture, que declarou ter ficado interessado no assunto após o lançamento de uma ferramenta do Google, proprietária do portal, que analisa se o vídeo enviado infringe direitos autorais.

Um grupo de estudantes do famoso MIT (Massachusets Institute of Technology) criaram o YouTomb, o cemitério dos vídeos do YouTube. Este site reune todas os vídeos que foram retirados do YouTube por terem um conteúdo chocante, inapropriado ou por ser serem protegidas por copyright. O único ponto negativo deste site é que não se pode visionar os vídeos, mas mesmo assim vale a pena visita-lo e para tal clicam aqui!
