Ia menguasai matematika dan juga astronomi dan menuangkan pemikirannya dalam sejumlah karya.Selain dikenal sebagai ilmuwan, Ahmad juga memiliki jabatan di pemerintahan, yaitu pada saat Dinasti Tulunid berkuasa di Mesir.

MOGADÍSCIO, Somália, 23 de novembro de 2009 (CDN) – Extremistas muçulmanos que controlam parte da capital da Somália, Mogadíscio, assassinaram um jovem cristão por acusação de tentar a conversão para o cristianismo de um jovem muçulmano de 15 anos de idade. Membros da ganque islâmica al Shabaab sequestraram o cristão Mumin Abdikarim Yusuf, 23 anos, no dia 28 de outubro de 2009 depois que o garoto muçulmano de 15 anos o delatou, disse uma fonte. O corpo de Yusuf foi encontrado no dia 14 de novembro de 2009 numa rua residencial de Mogadíscio.

“Nosso irmão Yusuf foi assassinado”, disse a fonte. “Seu corpo foi jogado no distrito de Yaqshid e seu corpo estava numa rua residencial deserta”.

Os extremistas muçulmanos da Al Shabaab dizem ter ligações com os terroristas da Al Qaeda e controlam parte da capital Mogadíscio e a maior parte do sul da Somália, bem como outras áreas daquele país. As acusações do jovem muçulmano de 15 anos levaram os extremistas a invadirem a casa de Yusuf no bairro de Holwadag em Mogadíscio.

Depois de buscarem em sua casa, os extremistas muçulmanos não encontrarm nada relacionado ao cristianismo, mas assim mesmo o prenderam.

Relatos de fontes informam que antes que Yusuf fosse assassinado com dois tiros na cabeça, ele foi fortemente surrado e seus dedos foram quebrados enquanto os muçulmanos tentavam extrair evidências incriminadoras contra ele e informações sobre outros cristãos. A fonte informou mais tarde que o corpo de Yusuf apresentava sinais de tortura; todos seus dentes da frente estasvam arrancados, disse a fonte.

“Nós não sabemos a que hora ele foi assassinado, mas seu corpo recém-morto foi jogado no bairro de Yaqshid cerca de 4:30 da manhã do dia 14 de novembro de 2009 e seguindo o desejo da família, nós enterramos o corpo por volta das 15:00 do mesmo dia” disse a fonte.

Os cristãos da área não podem se identificar para a família muçulmana de Yusuf, mas puderam ajudar indiretamente os parentes dele a enterrá-lo com dignidade, disse a fonte. Não se sabe se Yusuf revelou informações sobre outros cristãos, durante sua tortura. Os líderes da igreja estão mudando os cristãos que conheciam Yusuf por medida de segurança, disse a fonte.

“Nós ainda não sabemos se os extremistas muçulmanos da Al Shabab obtiveram alguma informação de Yusuf”, disse a fonte. Os parentes de Yusuf não sabiam que seu filho era cristão e eles insistiram com os militantes da Al Shabaab que Yusuf ainda era muçulmano, disse a fonte. Os extremistas acusaram a família por não haver denunciado que seu filho se havia convertido ao cristianismo e ordenaram que sua mãe e seu pai comparecessem perante uma corte muçulmana da Al Shabaab. Embora a fonte não tenha a confirmação se os pais obedeceram à ordem, ela disse que eles devem ter feito isso, por que os militantes muçulmanos decapitam quem desobedece suas ordens.

“Eu não posso confirmar que eles compareceram perante a corte muçulmana, mas isso é muito provável”, disse ele. “Quem ousa desafiar a eles?” Os extremistas demonstraram que não relutam em matar aqueles que notam que são simpáticos a qualquer religião “estrangeira”. Ele adicionou que os extremistas muçulmanos não assassinaram Yusuf rapidamente por que não tinham evidência contra ele, exceto o testemunho do garoto adolescente.

“Pela religião muçulmana, para executar alguém você precisa do depoimento de três testemunhas, e eles não as tinham” disse a fonte. “A Al Shabaab é conhecida por fazer o que lhes dá na cabeça, e eles nem mesmo seguem as regras de sua própria religião que dizem seguir à risca”.

A descoberta do corpo de Yusuf trouxe um fim à tentativa de sua família para libertar o jovem de 23 anos, mas agora eles estão vivendo aterrorizados, pois a Al Shabab os acusou de ocultarem a fé cristã de seu filho. A fonte disse que a morte de Yusuf é típica de grupos extremistas muçulmanos, que frequentemente enchem o corpo de suas vítimas de balas antes de jogá-los em lugares públicos para servir como advertência para aqueles que ousam resistir às suas ordens.

Desde a queda do regime do ditador Siad Barre em 1991, a Somália não tem um governo central e o país está nas mãos de gangues de militantes muçulmanos. La historia esta muy bien estructurada, mezclandose varias veces con los personajes principales del juego como Niko, Roman, Bulgarin Etc…

El juego me recuerda un poco a lo que fue GTA San Andreas con ese nivel de destrucción al agregarle un tanque y un helicóptero de combate que al menos yo tanto esperaba.

Hay nuevos tipos de actividades que puedes realizar en la ciudad como saltar en paracaidas desde un helicoptero o edificio, robar droga, la gestion del local que es muy divertida etc. y el clasico ligue a las novias que esta vez solo se trata de … un buen cuchiplancheo y ademas peleas en jaula.

En general The Ballad Of Gay Tony es un juego que muestra muchos excesos, dinero, mujeres, SEXO, bj’s, armas avanzadas y nuevos personajes, como árabes extremadamente locos, hermanos de adictos a los esteroides, y muchos gay’s claro.

La historia te mantiene atento y sobretodo nunca te deja de hacer de reír es un toque de modernidad a la serie y de lo que tanto ah sobresalido en este tipo de juegos. . . la violencia.

Así que chavos ¿Quieren Violencia? este juego te dará una dosis de ella.

ISLAMABAD: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) presented to the government on Thursday a list of 248 politicians and bureaucrats, who were alleged to have plundered hundreds of billions of rupees but were cleared by the NAB under the NRO.

Sources in the Law Ministry while sharing with The News the “complete list” of NAB’s NRO beneficiaries, explained that thousands other cases of NRO beneficiaries did not belong to the NAB but with the provincial governments because they were criminal cases and were not covered by the NAB law.

On top of the list is the name of President Asif Ali Zardari while his several close associates, both political and bureaucratic, including Rehman Malik, Salman Farooqi and his brother Usman Farooqi, Hussain Haqqani and Siraj Shamsuddin are also reflected.

The list, which also reflects a brief introduction of the cases dropped against each name under the NRO, also includes the name of serving and former ministers, federal and provincial secretaries, ex-chief secretaries, existing or former members of the national and provincial assemblies and others.

According to the list, Asif Ali Zardari remained the beneficiary No 1 of the NRO as at least eight of his NAB cases of corruption and misuse of authorities were dropped. These cases included the alleged kickbacks from SGS PSI Company, grant of licence to ARY Gold causing huge loss to government, corruption in purchase of Ursus tractors under the Awami Tractor Scheme, illegal award of contract to Cotecna for pre-shipment, assets beyond means, received kickbacks from Sajjad Ahmad (late) ex-chairman Pakistan Steel Mills, illegal construction of Polo ground at PM House and the money laundering SGS Swiss case.

I got a really cool – in my mind anyway – canvas bag at the O2 last night for €10. I notice that all artists seem to be including canvas bags as part of their merch these days and I like it. At Marina and the Diamonds on Wednesday she was offering bags with the lyrics “I am not a robot” printed on them which I sadly did not buy. I still carry a bag I bought at Band of Horses ages ago all the time. They’re a cheaper and much more useful purchase than a t-shirt you’ll never wear. I know I never do anyway, mainly because I always buy ‘em too big or too small. The bag in question (rather apt, no?):

Last night I took my Dad – or rather he took me – to the O2 to see Cat Stevens/Yusuf Islam. Billed as Cat’s (let’s call him that to ease confusion) first gig in Ireland the concert promised a trip down memory lane for the oldies in the crowd. Indeed, as we observed, the crowd was composed mainly of people in their 40s and older. Though it might be wrong to assume, there was definitely an air of expectation in the concert that this was a Greatest Hits tour, a chance for the paying Irish public to finally hear the songs that coloured their past, live.

And from the outset it looked like this was what it would be. Cat began his set strolling onto the stage, guitar in hand. He was shortly joined by two more guitarists and together they entertained with the kind of folksy music Cat became famous for. There would be no dancing to this music but the crowd were happy, perhaps full of expectation that soon a Cat Stevens hit would make its voice known. After a few slow songs the stage opened to reveal keyboards, bass and drums and it was then that the show really got going. For about ten minutes, that is.

At this point Cat started talking about the “surprise” in store for the audience. I knew, as I had paid attention, that this meant a preview of Cat’s new musical Moonshadow. I presumed that as it had not been the opening act (a much better slot, no?) it would be little more than a few minutes of the second act, not close to the entirety.

The interval ended and the real fun began. Cat ambled on stage, sat on a box and with his guitar sang an unfamiliar song while two children played on stage. Their voices – the irritating sing-song kind – interrupted the song to talk about a land of no sun or too much sun or something like that and it was at this point that I began to grow nervous and the crowd started to shift their weight in the plastic seats.

This was as close to a full-blown musical as you could imagine in the middle of a concert. Plotlines developed, characters formed, children grew old and old people grew tired of the rebellious youth. It was hard to stomach, hard to watch a musical the majority of the crowd didn’t seem to know was coming when Cat Stevens was obviously wandering about backstage. Oh yes, he had left the stage after the first song and his cast took over the singing duties. This meant, in case my point is not clear, that the audience DID get to hear his hits, but these were the hits sang by cast members of a West End musical, their every syllable enunciated through grinning, gurning mouths.

Nobody in the audience paid to listen to an actor sing ‘Father and Son’, nobody wanted a female cast member to twist ‘Wild World’ into a lament for her lost son and nobody wanted to see ‘Matthew & Son’ turn into a dance routine. It was hard. I hate to see people on stage boo-ed, I understand that the cast members of Moonshadow were merely doing their job and I suppose they were doing it well, or as well as can be expected in the face of a hostile audience.

Then it was over. People were still walking out when Cat reappeared to tell us he’d be back in five minutes, that he hadn’t left us, that he hoped we hadn’t left him. So we stayed and hoped that a hit was somewhere in our future, a familiar song to heal the hurt of the unexpected musical. But it wasn’t coming. Cat introduced songs from recent albums, he thanked us for coming and spending “so much money”* and smiled his way through his second, shorter set. Even ‘Moonshadow’ was ruined by the addition of the lead from the musical returning on stage to falsetto his way through the classic. At this stage everyone was uneasy, Cat affirmed that he would not be playing some songs like ‘Hard Headed Woman’, presumably not in keeping with his current outlook on life. For his encore Cat began with a new song ‘All Kinds of Roses’ from Roadslinger. The crowd screamed blue murder and he replied “Now I know what Dylan felt like”. Not that this was comparable to Dylan’s electric moment, in any way.

I left during the second song of the encore, a reimagined version of ‘Lilywhite’. By then it was too late for me and I had to leave. Anyone know if he ended on a high note? EDIT: Apparently I missed Ronan Keating and Cat sing Father and Son together. That I can definitely live without.

To conclude, for I know I’ve rambled on  long enough,  I am usually in giving any performer the benefit of my doubt. I don’t like to boo (I didn’t last night) and I don’t like to hear others do so. I respect a performer’s right to play his recent songs, not concentrate on hits from 30 years ago. I do have issue with the promotion (POD and AEG in association with the Irish Times and 2fm were the promoters) of a concert that used Cat Steven’s hits to entice people into the O2. The preview of the musical was not billed as the major part of the show it was. I knew about it but I believe myself to be in the minority of people there who were aware it was part of the show. I respect Cat Stevens but I do not respect last night’s show or the promoters who allowed what happened to happen. As he might have learned last night “it’s hard to get by just upon a smile”.

*DISCLOSURE: my tickets were free, not that this prevents me from being angry on behalf on the thousands of others who paid €80 and upwards for the privilege.

EDIT: The Daily Telegraph’s reviewer had this to say about last night. I can’t say that I agree with calling the people in the crowd who registered their disapproval loudly “churlish and mean spirited”. Brian Boyd’s four star rating and my own differ widely, especially when it comes to Moonshadow.

Yakub sangat sedih, teramat sedih, ketika 9 anaknya kembali kepadanya, pada saat Simeon telah menjadi jaminan, Simeon telah ditahan di Mesir. Dan 9 anak yang lain meminta Yakub menyerahkan anaknya, Benyamin, untuk ikut dibawa ke Mesir, dan diserahkan kepada Yusuf.
Yakub sudah kehilangan Yusuf puluhan tahun yang lalu, lalu Simeon, lalu satu-satunya anak lelakinya dari istri kesayangannya Rahel. “Harus sedemikian sedihnyakah kematianku?, aku tidak rela mati begini TUHAN”,…mungkin beginilah doa Yakub.

Yusuf telah menjadi Gubernur di Mesir, sementara saudara-saudaranya tidak mengenalnya pada waktu mereka membeli bahan makanan dari Yusuf. Mereka telah menjualnya ketika ia masih muda, dan pembelinya membawa Yusuf ke Mesir. Pada saat membeli bahan makanan itulah Yusuf meminta saudara-saudaranya membawa Benyamin menghadap dia.

Ada dua model yang diperlihatkan kepada kita untuk meyakinkan dan memohon penebusan dan keselamatan kepada Bapa kita:
1. Model Ruben

BIS Kejadian 42:37 Lalu kata Ruben kepada ayahnya, “Serahkanlah Benyamin kepada saya, Ayah; nanti akan saya bawa kembali, jika tidak, Ayah boleh membunuh kedua anak laki-laki saya.”

Berilah saya yang saya inginkan, sebagai jaminannya bukan diri saya sendiri, tetapi apa yang saya punyai.
Tentu, model ini tidak disenangi, dan bukan yang diajarkan kepada kita, tetapi bisa jadi sering kita lakukan.

2. Model Yehuda

BIS Kejadian 43:8-10 Lalu kata Yehuda kepada ayahnya, “Izinkanlah anak itu ikut, dan saya yang bertanggung jawab atas dia. Kami akan berangkat dengan segera supaya tidak seorang pun dari kita mati kelaparan. Sayalah jaminannya, dan Ayah boleh menuntut dia dari saya. Kalau dia tidak saya bawa kembali dengan selamat, saya tanggung hukumannya seumur hidup. Seandainya kita tidak menunggu begitu lama, pasti kami sekarang sudah pulang pergi dua kali.”

Berilah saya yang saya inginkan, sebagai jaminannya diri saya sendiri.
Tentu, model inilah yang diajarkan kepada kita.

Karena begitu besar kasih Allah akan dunia ini, sehingga Ia telah mengaruniakan Anak-Nya yang tunggal, supaya setiap orang yang percaya kepada-Nya tidak binasa, melainkan beroleh hidup yang kekal.

TUHAN menjaminkan DiriNya sendiri, demi keselamatan dan penebusan.

Assalamu’alaikum wr.wb

Pernah ga kebayang, Allah begitu pemurah buat kita semua…??? Dan Sangat-sangat Pemurah. Kalimat Sangat-sangat Pemurah itu ga cukup untuk menggambarkan Kemurahan Allah. Lihat saja, hanya baca Surah al Ikhlas 3x saja, kita sudah dicatat sebagai orang yang baca 1/3 al Qur’an. Dan tidak diragukan sesiapa yang baca 3x maka dicatat berpahala sama dengan mengkhatamkan al Qur’an. Rugi buat yang banyak nanya, dan makin rugi bagi yang udah dapat jawabannya, malah ga baca-baca, he he he. Mendingan orang-orang yang sami’na wa atho’na. Hayooooo aja dia baca, ga mikir, ga nanya. Bersabda Rasulullah yang berasal dari Hadits Abi Ayyub: Man qoro-a Qul Huwawloohu ahad faqod qoro-a tsulutsal Qur’an. Sesiapa yang baca Surah al Ikhlas, maka ia sungguh telah membaca 1/3 al Qur’an. Dan Rasulullah pula yang mengatakan bahwa Qul huwawloohu ahad ta’dilu tsulus al Qur’an, Surah al Ikhlas sebanding dengan 1/3 al Qur’an (HR Abu Hurairoh).

Sekarang hitung, jika sehabis shalat fardhu 5x kita baca Qulhu masing-masing 3x. Maka dalam sehari kita dicatat khatam al Qur’an 5x. Dan sebulan? 150x khatam al Qur’an. Dalam setahun? 1800x khatam al Qur’an. Belom lagi kalau bacanya berjamaah, maka pahalanya berlipat-lipat lagi sebanyak banyaknya jamaah yang baca! Wow! Senang sekali santri-santri dan asaatidz yang rajin membacanya dalam tiap kali usai shalat fardhu berjamaah di mushalla/masjid pesantren. Subhaanallaah.

Terus, kalo yang 10 milyar pahala saban hari?

Ya, pembahasan tentang Qulhu itu mirip mukaddimah pembahasan tentang Kemurahan Allah! Ya Allah, Engkaulah Wahai Yang Maha Pemurah, yang memberi kesempatan kepada kami mengejar keburukan-keburukan kami yang tidak akan terkejar bila tiada Kemurahan-Mu.

Saya akan bahas sedikit dari hal yang sederhana, enteng, tapi subhaanallaah pahalanya. Coba baca hadits berikut ini. Ada hadits di Shohiih al Jaami’ nmr 6026 dengan sanad yang disebut berkategori “sangat baik”: Qoola Rosuuluwlooh: Manistaghfaro lilmu’miniina wal mu’minaati katabawloohu lahuu bikulli mu’minin wa mu’minatin hasanatun. Masya Allah! Itu artinya kurang lebih: Bersabda Rasulullah, sesiapa yang memohonkan ampun buat orang-orang mukmin, maka ia mendapatkan satu kebaikan dari setiap jumlah orang-orang mu’min. Masya Allah kan? Ini kan namanya hasanaat biqodari ‘adadil mu’minien; kebaikan-kebaikan dengan bilangan sebanyak jumlah orang mu’min. Cukup bagi kita berdoa dengan mengucap:

Awloohummaghfir lil mu’miniena wal mu’minaat; ya Allah, ampunilah orang-orang yang beriman dari golongan laki-lakinya dan golongan perempuannya.

Terkadang imam-imam, ustadz-ustadz dan atau kita, masih menambah lagi dengan tambahan kalimat “ mil ladun aadama ilaa yaumil qiyaamah”. Subhaanallaah… dan golongan mu’min dari sejak zaman Adam sampe hari akhirnya nanti. Masya Allah, Masya Allah. Cakep banget. Demikian luas samudera Ilmu dan Kemurahan Allah. Dan yang demikian tidak akan mengurangi Kerajaan dan Kekuasaannya Allah sama sekali. Ga akan.

Terus, 10 milyar itu? Gimana?

Ya begini, bila dalam 5x shalat fardhu kita mendoakan orang-orang mu’min dengan potongan doa tadi, lalu anggap saja orang mu’min di dunia ini sebanyak 2 milyar, maka kebaikan buat kita yang dihitung berdasarkan jumlah orang mu’min sudah akan berjumlah 2 milyar kebaikan setiap mendoakan mereka. Dikali 5 waktu? 10 milyar. Jumlah ini akan bertambah-tambah jika doanya masih terus ditambah dengan doa-doa lain, dan berjamaah pula. Macam: Awloohumajbur ummata sayyidinaa Muhammad, Awloohumarfa’ ummata sayyidinaa Muhammad, Awloohumaghfir ummata sayyidinaa Muhammad, Awloohuma baarik ummata sayyidinaa Muhammad, yang akan dihitung setarikan nafas penciptaan manusia sampe orang terakhir nanti yang dicabut. Subhaanallaah.
Oke deh. Saya coba bahas tentang “Ya Allah, Yang Maha Pemurah” ini nanti di website ya, di www.wisatahati.com, baik di KuliahOnline maupun di DhuhaaCoffee. Doain aja deh, biar mulai nyambung lagi KuliahOnline dan DhuhaaCoffee nya tersebut. Kita bahas hal-hal sederhana namun dilalaikan oleh orang: Shalat malam 2 rakaat lebih baik dari dunia dan seisinya. Itu misal tambahannya. Sehingga menunjuk kepada keanehan diri kita yang habis-habisan mencari dunia di siang hari lalu kecapean dan malah ga bisa bangun malam. Aneh. Sebab harga 2 rakaat shalat malam saja udah ga bisa dibandingin sama dunia yang kita cari habis-habisan. Tentu saja, banyak sisi yang harus kita bahas lebih lanjut lagi. Makanya doain ya. Tulisan yang kali ini, jalanin dulu. Banyakin baca Qulhu, di mana sekali baca 3x-3x. Supaya dapat pahala khatam Qur’an. Udah mah kemaren di Ramadhan, ga khatam, he he, masa ga tertarik dengan ShortCut amal dari Rasul ini. Dan jangan lupa pula rajin-rajin doakan sebanyak-banyaknya orang.Wassalamu’alaikum wr.wb

Learning about Prophet Joseph (peace be upon him) in Oklahoma City

Hi, everyone. Yesterday, as I finished waking up from a long sleep, which was the best sleep I’ve had in a while, I thought to myself: “I haven’t been to Oklahoma City in a couple of weeks.” I live in Ardmore, a 1 hour and 40 minute trip away from the An-Nasr Mosque in Oklahoma City, and because of the distance and the consumption of gas that results from such a long trip, I don’t like taking the trip too often, and normally go about once a month. Plus, there was a period of several months where, because of car problems, I couldn’t make the trip at all. However, I love the Muslim community up there in OKC and I missed them, because the fellowship is so strong there and because they’re so numerous, I know that I can find people to pray all 5 prayers in the day there, plus have some fellowship afterwards with the brothers-in-faith that I’m close to without them rushing off to work or something. I decided to get on the Internet like I always do and especially check Facebook, because that’s where the brothers-in-faith in OKC like to communicate with each other. I come to find out from the imam, or head preacher, of the An-Nasr Mosque, Imad Enchassi, that he is having his usual Sunday class teaching about the stories of the Prophets (peace be upon them all) that are found in the Qur’an as well as in Bible. He was talking about the Prophet Joseph (peace be upon him) in this particular class, and I thought that was good, but what really intrigued me was the fact that the famous rock group U2 was also having a concert that night in OKC. Imad posted this message in his Facebook Wall: “Your choice: come to the class or go to U2 concert.” I was like: I live in Ardmore, and I normally don’t go to either one; if I go to OKC, I’ll go to the class, because of the knowledge that I will learn and internalize, which, God willing, will benefit me more than going to a U2 concert. I’m not criticizing U2, but I am stating that we have to keep our priorities in line with what’s really important. Besides, the environment at those kinds of concerts is not exactly the kind that encourages me to practice my faith, nor does it uplift me spiritually. I was debating whether to go to OKC or not, and when Imad said that, I was like: “What the heck? Why not? Let’s go to OKC.” I posted a response to Imad, saying: “Imad, you might get a surprise visit, God willing. Stay tuned.” Thank God that the weather was beautiful outside, so it made the decision that much easier. :) Anyway, I jumped in the car and took off to OKC. It helped that I had a couple of music CD’s that I could listen to while I was driving, so I decided to pop the first one in. It was a CD that I had compiled of my favorite Islamically-inspired Muslim singer, Sami Yusuf. I don’t mind going to the concerts of Islamically-inspired Muslim singers, because it is their music that uplifts me spiritually and strengthens my faith in God Almighty and His Final Prophet and Messenger, Muhammad son of Abdullah (may God Almighty’s peace and blessings be upon him always). Anyway, once I got finished with Sami’s beautiful songs, I then grabbed the other CD, which contained songs by Yusuf Islam (formerly Cat Stevens), Kareem Salama (the first-ever Muslim country music singer), folk singer Dawud Wharnsby, traditional nasheed singers Zain Bhikha and Mustaqiim Sahir, hip-hop/rap groups Native Deen and Outlandish, and a couple of songs by Cat Stevens during his non-Muslim days, “Peace Train” and “Morning Has Broken.” I listen to songs by non-Muslims as long as the lyrics conform to Islamic beliefs. Anyway, as I was pulling into the An-Nasr Mosque’s parking lot, Kareem Salama’s song “Chivalry’s Not Dead” was finishing. After it finished, I turned off the car and got out and headed into the mosque. Lo and behold! The first one I met when I entered the mosque was none other than Imad himself. Wow! Talk about great minds thinking alike! :) Anyway, Imad said as soon as he saw me: “I was thinking to myself: ‘I think Samir’s coming to OKC today.’” I was like: “You think?” LOL. :) Anyway, I prayed the Maghrib (Sunset) and ‘Isha (dusk) prayers combined when I entered the prayer hall, and I could combine the prayers since I was considered a traveler because I was far away from home, and then sat down as the class was starting. I was very humbled to see the faces of joy that the other brothers had when they saw me. I am very grateful to have such wonderful people to call as my brothers-in-faith. Anyway, as soon as I sat down, Imad said: “We are pleased to have Mr. Samir Rafael Elneser joining us from Ardmore for the class today.” I was like “Thanks, Imad,” smiling sheepishly. :) Anyway, the class got started, and Imad proceeded to talk about the Prophet Joseph (pbuh) and his ordeal while he was in prison to protect him from the Egyptian prime minister’s wife, who, along with the ladies at her side, wanted to commit adultery with him, and Joseph felt that the best way to protect himself from this temptation was to ask to go to prison. Just a side note here: Imad talked about the fact that the pharaohs didn’t rule Egypt during this time. He didn’t mention who did rule, but according to my understanding of history, and I could be wrong, but a Semitic people from the Arabian peninsula called the Hyksos ruled Egypt for about 200- 250 years, so it was probably them that Joseph (pbuh) dealt with. Anyway, while in prison, he taught the prison inmates about the Oneness of God Almighty, and therefore being so loved by the inmates that it was said that if an inmate got out of prison, he would deliberately go back to prison just so he could be with Joseph (pbuh) again and have fellowship with him. :) Anyway, there were two special prison inmates that would have their fate judged, one condemned to death and the other allowed to live and be free. Joseph (pbuh) came to know who the surviving one would be, which was the king’s butler, and proceeded to tell that butler something to the effect of: “When you go in front of the king next time, if you have time, put in a good word for me.” However, the butler forgot for a few years, once he was released from prison, to mention to the king about Joseph (pbuh). After a few years, one night the king had a dream. In that dream, he saw 7 fat cows and 7 skinny cows. He saw the 7 skinny cows eating the 7 fat cows. He also saw 7 green bales of hay, and 7 dry bales of wheat. Perplexed by this dream, he called his advisers to him and asked them what this dream meant. The advisers thought that the dream was a mixed-up mumbo-jumbo dream that made no sense. However, they qualified their belief by saying that they were not experts in interpreting dreams. This is when the butler stepped in, remembering his promise that he gave Joseph (pbuh) to put in a good word for him in front of the king, and he told the king that this man named Joseph (pbuh) who was in prison, knew how to interpret dreams and could be of help to the king. Some ministers said yes and some said no, but the king said “Tell this Joseph (pbuh) about my dream.” The butler forthwith went to Joseph (pbuh) in the prison and, embarrassed by the fact that he had forgotten till now to put in a good word before the king like Joseph asked, said to Joseph (pbuh): “O truthful one! The king has this dream, and he would like to know what it means.” Joseph (pbuh) obliged in interpreting the dream. He said: “The 7 fat cows signify 7 years of prosperity and abundant harvests of crops, and the skinny cows signify 7 years of drought that will follow the 7 years of prosperity. He advised the butler to advise the king to eat only of what is needed from the prosperous years and to save the rest, not even removing the bushels from the wheat. The skinny cows eating the fat cows meant that the Egyptian people will be eating during the years of drought what they saved up during the years of prosperity, which also is exactly what the green and dry bales of wheat meant. Joseph (pbuh) then told of an additional prophecy, saying: “When the 7 years of drought are over, the people will squeeze whatever they have left to survive.” The butler took Joseph’s (pbuh) words to the king, who, being pleased with what he heard, said “Bring Joseph (pbuh) to me.” With that, the class ended, to be continued next week, and I made the call for the ‘Isha prayer, and then we sat down and ate some briyani, which is good, as long as it’s not too hot.  Then I prayed ‘Isha with the community, even though I already prayed it before, because the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) taught us that when the time for the community to pray has come, even if you prayed before, everyone still has to pray. To me, that means basically to keep the community united and to make sure that people are not skipping the prayer on purpose while in the mosque. Anyway, once the prayer was over and after Imad related a quick saying from the Prophet (pbuh) pertaining to the Banu Nadir, one of the original Jewish tribes of Medina who were originally politically allied with the Prophet (pbuh), but relations had deteriorated so extensively between them that they eventually plotted to kill the Prophet (pbuh) and were expelled from Medina as a result, that was the end of my trip to OKC, and I left the mosque and headed home, listening to the music that I had listened to on the way to OKC. It was a wonderful experience, and to Imad and the other brothers-in-faith who were so kind, I say “God bless you and keep in His Protection always. Ameen (Amen).” Peace and take care.

Sekali lagi, renungan malam menggugah saya. Kali ini melalui perantara surat Yusuf. Namun, kali ini saya tidak bercerita tentang kisah Nabi Yusuf dengan seorang isteri dari pembesar kerajaan Mesir. Hal yang patut jadi pembelajaran bagi kita hari ini adalah fakta tentang jabatan nabi Allah yang mulia tersebut di kerajaan Mesir itu.

Beberapa di antara saudara kita berpendapat bahwa ada kemungkinan untuk masuk ke dalam struktur pemerintahan dalam memperjuangkan agama Allah ini melalui sebuah jalan yang biasa disebut demokrasi. Nah, salah satu hujjah dari beberapa saudara kita itu adalah berdasarkan kisah dari nabi Allah yang mulia ini. Dari kisah seorang manusia yang begitu takut pada Rabb-nya ini. Kisah apa yang sering dijadikan landasan hukum? Tepatnya, kisah Nabi Yusuf ketika beliau meminta jabatan kepada sang raja seperti tersebut di ayat berikut.

Yusuf berkata, “Jadikan aku bendahara dari negara. Sesungguhnya aku adalah orang yang pandai menjaga, lagi berpengetahuan. (QS Yusuf 55)

Apa rahasia di balik itu semua? Tak semua yang tampak bagi kita akan begitu adanya. Kadang, mata menipu pemiliknya. Yah, sebenarnya bukan mata yang menipu. Tapi sang pemilik mata lah yang salah menginterpretasikan apa yang ia saksikan.

Ayat tersebut tidak lantas menjadikan kita berhak untuk turut turun memperjuangkan Islam dengan sarana pemerintahan. Mengapa? Pertama, karena parlemen maupun lembaga eksekutif dari mayoritas negara sepanjang sejarah dunia ini tidak berasaskan Islam. Sedang asas Islam merupakan salah satu perwujudan dari keimanan. Karena din bukan hanya berarti ‘agama’ seperti yang kita pahami selama ini. Karena din juga berarti sistem hidup yang mencakup seluruh tata nilai dan perundang-undangan dalam hidup kita, termasuk dalam mengundang-undangkan hukum Allah di sana.

Kita saksikan Allah berkata,

Barangsiapa yang mencari din selain dinul Islam, maka sekali-kali tidak akan diterima (din itu) darinya, dan di akhirat dia termasuk orang-orang yang merugi. (QS Ali Imron 85)

Saya kira saya tak perlu lagi berpanjang lebar menjelaskan pengertian din karena seluruh pengertian tersebut insya Allah telah cukup saya tuliskan dalam artikel-artikel sebelumnya.

Ah, tentu saja kita tak dapat mengatakan Yusuf, nabi Allah yang mulia ini menerapkan sistem jahil, melaksanakan hukum thaghut dalam jabatannya. Mengapa? Sederhana saja. Beranikah kita yang dhaif ini menuduh seorang nabi Allah yang amat istimewa hingga namanya tertulis dalam salah satu nama surat dalam al Quran ini sebagai orang yang menegakkan sistem lain, din lain, di luar din yang lurus ini? Sementara Allah berkata bahwa mereka yang menegakkan din di luar Islam adalah mereka yang merugi di akhiratnya. Ditambah lagi sebuah pernyataan singkat namun jelas yang dilontarkan Yusuf alaihissalaam ini.

Sesungguhnya aku telah meninggalkan millah orang-orang yang tidak beriman pada Allah, sedang mereka ingkar pada hari kemudian. Dan aku mengikuti millah bapak-bapakku yaitu Ibrahim, Ishaq, dan Ya’qub. Tidaklah patut bagi kami (para Nabi) mempersekutukan sesuatu selain Allah (QS Yusuf 37-38)

Kedua, partisipasi kita dalam struktur kekuasaan legislatif membuat kita mengambil wewenang tasyri’ (membuat hukum) yang sejatinya hanyalah milik Allah semata.

Dan barangsiapa yang tidak berhukum dengan apa yang Allah turunkan, maka mereka itulah orang-orang yang kafir (QS al Maidah 44)

Kita tahu bahwa hukum itu hanyalah milik Allah.

Menetapkan hukum itu hanyalah hak Allah. (QS al An’am 57)

Maka, pengambilalihan wewenang tersebut juga berarti penyekutuan Allah terhadap sesuatu. Masih ingat kisah Adi bin Hatim ra ketika ia menggunakan kalung salib di hadapan Nabi saw? Nabi saw serta merta mengatakan kaum Nashrani sebagai kaum yang menyembah rahib dan orang alim di antara mereka karena rahib dan orang alim itu membuat hukum baru selain hukum Allah. Karena para rahib dan orang alim tersebut menghalalkan apa yang diharamkan oleh Allah dan mengharamkan apa yang dihalalkan oleh Allah. Ditambah lagi, umatnya membenarkan segala tindak-tanduk para rahib tersebut. Jadilah mereka terjebak dalam kesyirikan.

Sepertinya kembali kita harus merenung. Apakah kita mulai begitu berani mendongakkan kepala kita pada Allah hingga kita menyejajarkan diri dengan-Nya dalam pembuatan hukum yang mengatur kehidupan manusia? Undang-undang siapakah yang kita terapkan dalam penyusunan teks hukum dalam parlemen? Hukum Allah ataukah dustuur thaghut? Siapakah yang kita beri wala’ dan baro’ kita? Apakah kita tetap loyal pada Allah dengan segala konsekuensinya, ataukah kita berlepas diri dari Allah dan segenap firman-Nya? Lagipula, bukankah Nabi Yusuf as menjabat sebagai menteri yang merupakan jabatan eksekutif, bukan sebagai anggota parlemen yang merupakan lembaga penyusun undang-undang?

Dari sini, kita masuk ke pertanyaan ketiga. Apakah lantas masuk ke jabatan eksekutif diperkenankan jika menilik sejarah Nabi Yusuf tersebut? Bebeberapa ayat dari surat Yusuf berikut ini sepertinya menjawab pertanyaan kita.

Tidaklah patut bagi Yusuf menghukum saudaranya menurut din (undang-undang/aturan) raja (QS Yusuf 76)

Posisi eksekutif adalah posisi pelaksana dari produk hukum yang dihasilkan anggota parlemen. Di negara yang menganut sistem Trias Politica karya Montesqieu, tiga posisi tersebut, legislatif, yudikatif, dan eksekutif, saling berkaitan satu dengan lainnya. Dalam hal ini, eksekutif merupakan pelaksana hukum dari apa yang menjadi keputusan orang-orang yang memiliki kekuasaan legislatif.

Apa ini yang kita inginkan sebagai muslim? Sepertinya tidak.

Hukum itu hanyalah milik Allah. Dia telah memerintahkan agar kamu tidak menyembah selain Dia. Itulah din yang lurus. (QS Yusuf 40)

Mengenai QS Yusuf 40, Sayyid Quthb, dalam Fi Zhilalil Quran, menjelaskan bahwa ada gambaran ketundukan dan ketaatan dari seorang Yusuf as hingga ia hanya menujukan segenap ketundukannya kepada Allah semata. Maka, telah jelas pulalah kekuasaan Yusuf ketika berkuasa atas kendali semua urusan di negeri Mesir. Mengingat sebuah ayat berikut.

Maka ketika raja telah berbicara dengannya, dia berkata, “Sesungguhnya kamu hari ini menjadi seorang yang berkedudukan tinggi lagi dipercaya oleh kami. (QS Yusuf 54)

Sang raja memberikan kedudukannya kepada nabi Allah ini tanpa mengurangi dan mengusik sedikit pun tentang jabatannya.

Dan demikianlah kami memberi kedudukan kepada Yusuf di negeri itu. (Dia berkuasa) menuju ke mana saja ia kehendaki di bumi ini. (QS Yusuf 56)

Dua ayat tersebut mencerminkan totalitas sang raja dalam menyerahkan tampuk kekuasaannya. Ia tak lagi mencampuri urusan Nabi Yusuf dalam memerintah. Apa artinya? Artinya, sang raja pun telah tunduk pada Islam dengan menyerahkan kekuasaannya kepada Nabi Yusuf sebagai utusan Allah.

Pendapat ini pun diperkuat oleh pernyataan Mujahid, seorang tabiin murid dari Abdullah bin Abbas ra, mengenai hal ini. Beliau, seperti yang dikutip dalam Tafsir al Quran al Azhim karya Ibnu Katsir, mengatakan bahwa sang raja telah tunduk, telah masuk Islam, dengan adanya pernyataan tersebut. Maka, secara otomatis, negara tersebut telah berubah menjadi negara Islam yang menjadikan hukum Allah sebagai undang-undangnya.

Kondisi berbeda terjadi di mayoritas negara di dunia saat ini. Adakah di antara mereka yang menyerahkan kekuasaannya pada Allah semata? Adakah di antara mereka yang tidak berhukum pada dustuur thaghut? Ketika syarat ini tercapai, maka sampailah kita pada kesimpulan status negara Islam. Kalau tidak? Status negara itu bisa dipastikan bukanlah negara Islam.

Maka, perjuangan kepada Islam melalui parlemen maupun bentuk pemerintahan lainnya sebenarnya tidak dipraktekkan oleh Nabi Yusuf. Saya masih belum berbicara sah atau tidaknya. Saat ini saya hanya ingin merespon pernyataan yang menyangkutpautkan nama Yusuf as dalam argument beberapa saudara kita.

Kembali ke permasalahan awal. Dalam ayat yang kita baca tadi, kita bisa sedikit mengambil isyarat bahwa beliau sekedar berda’wah pada mereka yang belum merasakan ni’mat iman dan Islam ini. Dan ternyata, sang penguasa Mesir berkenan atas da’wahnya, kemudian masuk Islam dan menyerahkan tampuk kepemimpinannya pada Nabi Yusuf.

Mengapa saya mengatakan Nabi Yusuf hanya berda’wah pada sang penguasa?

Dan raja berkata, “Bawalah Yusuf kepadaku agar aku memilih dia sebagai orang yang rapat denganku.” Maka tatkala raja telah bercakap-cakap dengannya, dia berkata, “Sesungguhnya kamu hari ini menjadi seorang yang berkedudukan tinggi lagi dipercaya oleh kami. (QS Yusuf 54)

Apa yang diperbincangkan oleh Yusuf dan sang raja? Kita tak boleh melewatkan fakta bahwa Yusuf as adalah seorang nabi sekaligus rasul. Ia hanya diperintahkan untuk menda’wahkan tauhid. Untuk mengajak manusia kepada kebaikan, kepada penyembahan kepada Allah, dan pengingkaran pada thaghut.

Dan sungguh telah kami utus dalam setiap umat seorang rasul, bahwasanya (dia mengajak) menyembah Allah dan menjauhi thaghut. (QS an Nahl 36)

Jelaslah apa yang Yusuf as bicarakan adalah tentang millah bapak-bapaknya, tentang millah Ibrahim, Ishaq, dan Ya’qub. Nabi Yusuf as barangkali tidak berbicara masalah krisis pangan di negeri itu meski beliau memang pernah mena’wilkan mimpi sang raja tentang krisis pangan di daerah tersebut. Namun, mulanya raja berkenan berbincang dengan Nabi Yusuf dan mendengarkan da’wahnya bukanlah karena keterampilannya di bidang pertanian atau tafsir mimipi. Namun karena keindahan akhlaqnya terhadap isteri sang penguasa tersebut.

Lebih jauh, kembali pada awal kutipan surat Yusuf dalam tulisan ini, kita menyaksikan perkataan lantang Nabi Yusuf tentang pendiriannya.

Sesungguhnya aku telah meninggalkan agama orang-orang yang tidak beriman kepada Allah, sedangkan mereka ingkar kepada hari kemudian. Dan aku mengikuti agama bapak-bapakku yaitu Ibrahim, Ishaq dan Ya’qub. Tidaklah patut bagi kami (para Nabi) mempersekutukan sesuatu apapun dengan Allah. (QS Yusuf 37-38)

Ditambah lagi dengan firman Allah berikut.

Manakah yang baik, tuhan-tuhan yang bermacam-macam itu ataukah Allah Yang Maha Esa lagi Maha Perkasa ? Kamu tidak menyembah yang selain Allah kecuali hanya menyembah nama-nama yang kamu dan nenek moyangmu membuat-buatnya. Allah tidak menurunkan suatu keterangan pun tentang nama-nama itu. Keputusan (hukum) itu hanyalah kepunyaan Allah. Dia telah memerintahkan agar kamu tidak menyembah selain Dia. Itulah agama yang lurus, tetapi kebanyakan manusia tidak mengerti. (QS Yusuf 39-40).

Maka, ada baiknya kita cermati komentar Sayyid Quthb mengenai hal ini. Dalam mengomentari pencalonan diri dalam suatu jabatan, Sayyid Quthb menjelaskan dengan amat jelas.

“Sesungguhnya Yusuf tidak lantas bersujud dengan penuh terima kasih sebagaimana dilakukan oleh orang-orang pinggiran yang menjilat pada thaghut. Dia tidak lantas memuji raja dengan berkata, ‘Semoga selamat sentosa wahai tuanku Maharaja. Aku seorang abdimu yang patuh dan tunduk. Aku seorang pelayanmu yang terpercaya’.”

Shadaqta, ya syaikh… Nabi Yusuf memang tidak pernah mengemis jabatan. Beliau tidak pernah meminta kekuasaan pada mereka yang tak mau mengenal Islam sama sekali, pada mereka yang enggan berkomitmen pada Islam. Nabi Yusuf meminta jabatan tepat saat sang raja telah menyatakan komitmennya pada Nabi Yusuf dan saat sang raja telah bersaksi bahwa hukum Allah lah yang harus ditegakkan di bumi Mesir tersebut.

Kita menjumpai fakta yang barangkali tak dapat dibantah lagi dalam kondisi real saat ini. Di mana, setiap partai yang akan maju mencalonkan dirinya dalam kekuasaan legislatif maupun eksekutif haruslah memiliki loyalitas pada dustuur negeri yang bersangkutan. Di mana pun itu. Mau tak mau, mereka harus berbicara kepada media. Dan pembicaraan itu haruslah dihiasi dengan kata-kata yang menyenangkan hati penguasa ataupun sistem yang dianutnya.

Harus kita akui, kita sulit keluar dari tradisi politik tersebut. Dalam sistem politik kontemporer dunia, media menjadi salah satu pilar tegaknya demokrasi. Artinya, mau tak mau, kita harus membuat pernyataan politis melalui media tersebut. Berkaitan dengan hal ini, mereka yang hendak berkecimpung di dunia politik praktis bernama demokrasi ini harus membuat pernyataan terbuka bahwa sistem yang dianut di negara tempat kita tinggal adalah sistem terbaik, bahwa sistem tersebut sudah final, bahwa tak ada sedikit pun niat untuk melakukan islamisasi.

Saudaraku, inilah yang tak dilakukan oleh Nabi Yusuf…

Terakhir, dahulu Rasulullah saw pernah berkata pada sahabatnya.

Sungguh akan datang kepada kalian para penguasa yang tidak baik, mereka mendekatkan orang-orang yang paling jahat dan mengakhirkan shalat dari waktu-waktunya, maka siapa saja yang mendapatkan keadaan itu, janganlah dia menjadi pejabat, janganlah menjadi aparat keamanan, janganlah menjadi petugas pengambil harta, dan janganlah menjadi penyimpan perbendarahaan. (HR Bukhari)

Dalam hadis tersebut, Rasulullah menggunakan kata ‘zhalim’ terhadap para penguasa yang tidak baik tersebut. Kita tahu bahwa kezhaliman tidak sampai mengenluarkan diri kita dari keislaman. Nah, logikanya, ketika Rasulullah melarang kita untuk menjadi staf dari penguasa zhalim, apa yang harus kita lakukan terhadap penguasa kafir?
