I hadn’t planned to go out on Friday but got talked into heading out for last orders. No tea, one pint and a shot of Jager was enough to unleash the Barney Gumble boozehound within. We all ended up going to a dive of a club and dancing to thoroughly horrible music. I was followed around all night by a bloke I kissed a few times when I was 17. He turned out to be a bit of a mentalist and was dropped like a hot potato. However many years on and not a lot has changed. He kept telling me how wonderful I looked and as I was waiting outside for a taxi, he approached me in front of all my mates to ask me out. He actually asked me if it would be inappropriate to ask me out, and I told him it was. Cue a little bit of pleading on his part and lots sniggering behind palms by my mates. He was banging on about it being fate or some other shitty line that I fell for when I was 17. My response? “If it’s meant to be, you’ll work out my number.” Consider yourself kicked to the kerb sunshine.  Still, I got lots of nice compliments from people I haven’t seen since I lost the weight. Schhweeet!

The rest of the weekend was pretty lazy. Had some food and chat with Alex, after he left, I watched films, took the hound out and had my dreams shattered by the outrageous exit of Jedward from X-Factor. I had such high hopes for them showing the the show up for the steaming pile of turd that it is. Gutted. Proper gutted. Little toerags lost me £250 too. 

I found out why Ali didn’t make it over to mine last week. Turns out she was in the middle of being proposed to over a bag of McDonalds. LULZ. If ever there were a sign to NOT marry someone, that would be it. Lets put aside the countless number of times he cheated on her, being shorter than her, collecting Alien airfix models and thinking a long black trenchcoat is groundbreaking fashion… A proposal over a fucking Big Mac? Did he get the ring out of a gumball machine too?!   Next time I see her, I’m going to perform my own rendition of this classic. On repeat until the end of time. Dance moves and all.

He is basically talking about the basics of ticket hunting to all the new pandas! I will post them here too, and here they are:

• You can visit any room and find a golden ticket
• You do NOT find them, they simply pop up in your room like mushrooms, gems, plants, etc.
• Make sure you grab them before the disappear!
• You do NOT have to get all 10 tickets at once, for you can log out and not lost tickets!
• After collecting 10 tickets, go to the Treehouse Lobby and click on Zing to get the weekly prize or coins!

Last week, I wrote and posted a blog article, titled “Real or Fake; How Reliable Are LinkedIn Professional Recommendations?“, and since then, I have received notes from different users, claiming that this kind of thing has been going on for a while on LinkedIn.

And it’s not just some users that are exchanging personal endorsements on LinkedIn, according to the Entrepreneur.com Blog, some LinkedIn users such as Steven Burda, have been exchanging personal connections in exchange for personal endorsements.

“It has been happening for quite some time. I have had people write their own endorsement and send it to me within minutes of connecting asking me to post it. I delete them instead. I would love to see this behavior stop.” Says Sheila Etheridge, Owner of SME Management.

Usually, when I browse through personal profiles for business contacts on LinkedIn, and I look at recommendations posted on any user’s profile, I generally regard that person as someone reliable and trustworthy as illustrated by the recommendations displayed on his or her profile.

But, I only now realize that, not all of the personal recommendations that are displayed on many of the LinkedIn users’ profiles are actually posted by users whom they have known or done business with or have worked with, but they might simply be a shrew of people selling, buying, trading and or exchanging personal endorsements for personal favoritism, and that simply means that these professional networking sites may not be as reliable as they seem to profess.

Now the question I have for LinkedIn is this: What are you going to do about this shrew of some of your registered users scamming, selling or buying, trading, and or exchanging personal connections and endorsements for personal favoritism or gain on your site?

Now I was thinking of ways to make ticket hunting more fun, so this is what I came up with….Ticket Hunting with Alvin! How this would work is I would schedule a day and time and we would all go ticket hunting!
We would stay as a group and wait for everyone to find at least one ticket in that room, and we would move on to the next room!

Cách đây tầm một năm, ai bảo mình… già là mình cay lắm nhá. Để ý đi, giai đoạn “tu bổ nhan sắc” chỉ mới gần đây thôi, cứ nghĩ độc thân mà còn… già nữa chắc ế chếtttttttt.

Giờ nhận ra, mỗi lứa tuổi đều có cái hay riêng, sức hút là ở mình chứ không phải ở con số. Ngay bản thân mỗi lúc cần tâm sự, toàn tìm đến các anh chị lớn hơn, kinh nghiệm chính là điểm lôi cuốn của những người từng trải. Hehe, nay có đám đàn em lóc nhóc, cảm thấy mình cũng truyền đạt được ít nhiều vốn sống nhất định. Tuổi lưng lửng zị mà thú vị, học hỏi được đa dạng kiến thức từ 2 hướng. ^_^

Càng trưởng thành, càng biết lắng nghe, chính xác là biết chọn lọc cái cần thiết để nghe. Những yếu tố thuộc về “bề ngoài” chẳng hạn, chỉ đón nhận trên phương diện tham khảo, chứ không phải trăn trở để làm vừa lòng tất cả mọi người nữa. Từ ngoại hình, cân nặng, tóc tai cho đến bằng cấp, tiền bạc, danh hiệu etc. Chết có mang theo được đâu hehe. Ảo hết. Sống hạnh phúc là OK.

Thấy tui shopping liên tục như zị, nhiều bạn chắc đang lẩm bẩm “Đạo đức giả.” Hahaha.

Vấn đề là mọi thứ mà tui đang làm, đều khiến bản thân tui vui trước tiên. Ví như khi uốn tóc xong được nhiều người khen, cũng lắm kẻ chê tè le. Kệ, tui thích. Tóc thẳng suôn mềm mượt gần 25 năm, phát chán! Hehe. Còn bàn tán, chứng tỏ còn sự quan tâm. Xem đó như minh chứng của từ “thú vị”, vì trên thực tế tui chưa bao giờ nghĩ mình là sao xẹt gì gì cả. Không phải người của công chúng, nói rùi. Có thể lắng nghe ý kiến đa chiều, nhưng để tâm hay không lại là một chuyện khác. I’m crazy the way I am, I’m sexy the way I am, I’m happy the way I am.

Để trở thành Somebody trong xã hội, bạn cần phải có một cái Tôi.

Người Việt mình rất giỏi, nhưng chưa có lĩnh vực nào thực sự nổi bần bật. Tuyên truyền “vì xã hội” nhiều quá, trong khi tập thể xuất phát từ cá thể, mọi thứ phải “vì cá nhân” thì họ mới có động lực mạnh mẽ hơn. Ai cũng chăm lo tốt cho bản thân (và không hại gì đến xung quanh) thì cả cộng đồng sẽ khỏe khoắn chứ sao?

Các bạn 9x giỏi hơn thế hệ trước ở điểm đó, tính cá nhân (Individuality) rất cao: Mỗi người đều sở hữu cá tính riêng, quan điểm riêng, cách sống riêng. Hồi xưa, bố mẹ đặt đâu con ngồi đó. Thời nay, mình thuyết phục ngược lại phụ huynh về mỗi bước đi của mình. Nhìn đồng lứa, không mấy ai được vậy, nhưng 9x có thể! Cool.

Nói thật, mình từng thất vọng với 9x ghê gớm, vì thấy quá nhiều trường hợp đua đòi, ăn chơi, lên Diamond làm trò khùng điên. Chuyện học thì hời hợt, thiếu chiều sâu, đọc blog của một em đạt giải văn thành phố mà chợt nghĩ: Thế thôi sao? Vì nhớ lại, đám đội tuyển cũ của mình, viết tốt đến… run người! Nhưng trách thì khó trách. Xã hội phát triển rứa. Mình cũng đâu muốn nghe ông bà ca hoài bài vọng cổ thời chiến tranh, bao cấp khổ ra sao? Tầm… chục lần là thuộc luôn rồi mà. Mất cái này, được cái kia. Giờ tụi nó tự tin hơn, năng động hơn, chịu khó theo đuổi đam mê của mình hơn. Thôi cố lên, các anh chị giờ bận chuyện vợ chồng con cái rồi, muốn mơ như mí em thì phải chờ đến khi… lên giường thôi.
