I blame this post on severe lack of sleep lately.

I have been wondering lately about something that is really bothering me lately. Not really bothering me I guess, more of a curiosity. And strangely it’s been lately. And it is odd … lately. How many more times can I say lately? It is men undoing their pants and almost dropping them all the way to the floor when using a urinal. The whole point of the urinal is so that you don’t have to do that. It’s not like I am looking at guys in the men’s room but, when you are standing there and someone drops trou next to you, you notice. Maybe zippers are becoming too expensive to put on pants.

There’s nothing worse than getting an injury down low for simply trying to get dressed.

According to a new study by researchers at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF), trouser zippers are the most common cause of penile injuries among men in the United States.

Researchers’ data suggests that each year a whopping 900 men over the age of 18 go to the emergency room because their penis has been caught in their zipper.

Researchers used emergency room data from 100 representative hospitals that participate in the National Electronic Injury Surveillance System (NEISS), which is run by the U.S. Consumer Products Safety Commission. They found that between 2002 and 2010, those 100 hospitals treated 2,695 cases of penile injury, of which 523 involved zippers.

Based on those actual cases, the researchers estimated that emergency rooms in the U.S. treated 17,616 zipper-related penile injuries during the same nine-year period.

According to the findings the zipper is the leading reason for penis related injury for grown men, whereas for children it is usually due to a fall or some other minor injury.

Fortunately, the study also found that 98 percent of all boys and men who go to the ER with a zipper-related penile injury do not need to be admitted to the hospital. They almost always go home right after being treated.

The researchers also found that zipper-related injuries rarely involved other genital organs. The second most commonly zipper-damaged organ was the scrotum, but it was only less than 1 percent cases.

Not surprisingly, zipper-related injuries were extremely rare in women. There were only five cases.

Just the sound of getting caught up in zipper can make one cringe, so luckily the UCSP researchers recommended some advice.

They said parents should not put their son into zippered trousers until they are confident that their child has the dexterity and focus to avoid an injury. They also suggest men wear form-fitting underwear to protect themselves, well their penis, from the zipper.

It looks like men may want to trade those boxers for briefs to keep everything in order down under.

The study was published last week in the urology journal BJU International.

<img class="size-full wp-image-71604" alt="More than 17,000 penises were caught in zippers between 2002 and 2010. (© Scott Speakes/Corbis)

Maybe more men should consider switching to button-fly pants because zippers are essentially bear traps laying in wait for penises to entrap. At least that’s the subtext I gathered from one of the most popular studies on the Internet this week, succinctly titled “Zip-related genital injury.” Published in the March 2013 edition of the Journal of the British Association of Urological Surgeons (whose happy hours are undoubtedly peppered with all sorts of fascinating urogenital trivia), the study sought to quantify just how much of a problem pant zippers pose to penises. Answer: quite a lot.

From 2002 to 2010, the researchers estimated that 17,616 Americans ended up in the emergency room “with trouser zip injuries to the genitals.” (How many pinky-lifting patients so properly described their zipped-up privates as “trouser zip injuries” wasn’t tracked, unfortunately.) Overwhelmingly, penises were the victims of those YKK devil’s teeth, which means that zippers are one of the most common sources of penile injuries. The good news, sort of, is that this isn’t new news, as these statistics thankfully don’t reflect a trend of men’s deteriorating motor skills. The study authors note: “Annual zip-related genital injury incidence remained stable over the study period.”

Rather than teaching men to zip more carefully, education may be more pressing for medical practitioners tasked with treating zipper-stuck penises, the researchers suggest. To release a penis from the painful grips of a zipper, the book “Synopsis of Pediatric Emergency Medicine” recommends grabbing wire cutters:”Zipper entrapment of the penis or foreskin can be managed in the emergency department by cutting the median bar of the zipper with wire cutters and disassembling the zipper mechanism.” But speaking to a meeting sponsored by the American Academy of Pediatric in 2012, Dr. Steven M. Selbst recommend a less menacing remedy than wire cutters:

“I’ve done this many times. You want to just pour mineral oil all over the patient’s genitalia and the zipper. Be generous – that’s the key. This is pretty cheap stuff. Then let the patient sit there for 20 or 30 minutes. Pack him in a room somewhere. When you come back, the foreskin will have simply slipped out of that zipper, although in some cases you may need a cotton swab to help it along a bit,”

Here’s hoping Dr. Selbst closed his speech with a PowerPoint slide that read, “It’s a greasy job, but somebody’s gotta do it!”

But in all seriousness, men might want to toss some wire cutters and mineral oil in their first aid kids, just in case. Or begin sporting super fly, fly-free overalls.

Parenting has to be the greatest responsibility in the world even if it’s such a common experi

Parenting has to be the greatest responsibility in the world even if it’s such a common experience. It is huge because this other person relies upon everything you can do for them just to function each day. Wherever you live in the world, you are also contributing to society. And that can have many outcomes, as you know, so naturally you want to do the best thing. Your goal is to make sure your children become upstanding citizens, responsible adults that can care for themselves. There are many different ways to come at this, with the end result being to accomplish your objectives.

Adult children are being forced to live at home longer, because of the bad economies in all the countries. This presents challenges and pressures on everyone in the household. Nothing can be more frustrating for an adult child to have to go back and live with parents. College graduates are having problems getting jobs, so that could be bad for your child. Since they know that this situation is not expected, the emotional toll could be huge. Feelings of depression or lack of self worth can be produced by the situation. Your children always need your support, but helping find a job is especially important to an adult child. Remember than an interview can be ruined by powerful negative emotions. Your adult child needs to remain proactive as well as positive, and that is the help you need to give. It really is our pleasure to be able to share so much research on How Parents Can Help Their Kids Lose Weight. We really had to pare down a lot of content to squeeze so much into this, but we are not done by any means. As you go through this, some things will standout more than others, but do not throw the baby out with the bathwater, either. Once you have more time to think about things, we think you will arrive at the conclusion that it actually is helpful. We make a suggestion here and there, and what we are trying to do is spark your own creative thinking. As you continue to read, try to make new connections between what you are learning as well as what you already know and have brought to the table. We always think that it is always all good, and it just needs to percolate a little bit in your mind.

There are different types of parenting personalities identified by research, and it helpful to know what type you are. In order to be a good parent for your child you need to be completely honest with yourself, so you know where you need help. Some people have the parenting trait of child discipline being very hard for them to apply. There is a synergistic way that both spouses can work together to produce positive results. It is okay to use complementary approaches, because it is a team effort. Maybe only one spouse has the ability to apply discipline, so it would be good to know that. Everybody can benefit when you work it out, so that it is fine tuned.

Teenagers are old enough to be included in family discussions and you should strive to do this. Just keep in mind that not all family discussions are appropriate for including your child. Give your upcoming family discussion some thought and decide if it’s time for a teenager to participate. Including your teens in the discussion of family matters tells them that you are recognizing the fact that they are becoming adults. It will also impart onto the teen a sense of responsibility towards the family unit as a whole. So, be sure, when you ask an older child to become part of a family discussion, that you make it clear you welcome their ideas and opinions also. This will inspire in your teens feelings that are positive in nature, even though this may surprise you. The way you learn in life is by making mistakes and parenting is no different. When you don’t have time to think about your decision, you will make some mistakes. Life in the home, when there are kids, truthfully, will sometimes seem like a battlefield. It can be chaotic and highly charged with emotions. Anything that can cause an adult to not be rational, you can expect mistakes to happen.

your fingers were innocent. at least i know that. at least i’m grateful that you have the courtesy of telling me that. if only you knew just how much it means to have held your hands, to be able to have a taste of what those fingers feel like reaching the insides of my wrist… i wondered if you will still say the words that you said. the words that as of now couldn’t be taken back anymore. it has been 2 months now since that night when my brain which was the only functioning part of my alcohol-induced body scolded me; when my fingers intertwined with yours like a zipper that unzipped too soon. it said: “remember this. you might never again feel this. you might never again find this to be true. you might never again hold hands with him.” ; and i wondered why i forgave you so easily when you have so blatantly undermined me with your remarks, and of the expressions of my heart for you. maybe it was because of that. maybe because we held hands that made it all the more worthwhile to get hurt. i want to move on, but at the same time it was as if some parts of me are still on the same spot. latched. not wanting to move on because all the things that might have been kept on flashing when i close my eyes. all the nice things that a jerk like you would do, and even all the things that you might again say to hurt me. i strangely anticipated it.

this is the truth. this is the most truthful that i can be with you. this is what my heart is telling the empty spaces that is this room when a girl is sitting alone writing in her journal of an afternoon sun that still shines. if this is not the truth, then there is no honesty in this world.

Here is a recipe for understanding currying with the help of zippers. (Done in graphic lambda calculus.)

We have a graph which has one output and several inputs. We want to curry it. For this we have to artificially give names to the inputs, i.e. to number them (notice that such a thing is not needed in graphic lambda).

The next step is to use a -zipper in order to clip the inputs, by using graphic beta moves, until we get this:

This graph is, in fact, the following one (we replace the -zipper, which is just a notation, or a macro, with its expression).

The graph inside the green dotted rectangle is the currying of , let’s call him . This graph has only one output and no inputs. (The procedure of currying can be made itself into a graph which is applied to the output of , but we stop at this level for this post.) The graph inside the red dotted rectangle is almost a list. We shall transform it into a list by using again a zipper and one graphic beta move.

Now we’re done!

As you see, the currying creates the list, or the list creates the currying, or both form a pair, like the homunculus and the scenic space , an allusion to my post on the Cartesian Theater.

A parenting adage that has been around a long time, that you probably know of is the importance of e

A parenting adage that has been around a long time, that you probably know of is the importance of early teaching. Children learn easily when they are young, so this is very good advice. To have lessons stick the longest throughout the life of the child, they need to be learned early. There are exceptions to all rules, but early lessons and conditioning are powerful. You are responsible for your children, so you need to build a foundation that is positive. Behaviors that are positive need to be reinforced continually and even add more. You need all of the best parenting practices you can get, and that is the goal of this article.

Problem resolution is something that every parent will go through if they have more than one child. A parent needs to learn how to be authoritative when their kids are fighting so things get resolved. Show them how to resolve their problems peacefully, and try not to yell while doing it. As long as you have patients, extra time, and the effort to do so, you can give your children valuable lessons that they will always remember. Using rationality, and a bit of patience, you can help them work out any problems that may manifest. If you do this enough, then in time the message will be clear. This first hand example that you give them, based on experience, will help them the most. You want to tell them why you do certain things so they understand what is going on. Sure, there is a lot to digest regarding Tips Parents Can Use to Help Their Kids Get to Their Ideal Weight in today’s article, and we do always strive to over-deliver. Sure, we know this is just one article, but take it from us when we tell you there is so much more to know. But be careful about dismissing anything too fast if at first glance it seems like it does not apply to you. That can sometimes be a mistake because on closer observation you will often change your mind. There have been more than a few times when our own minds were a little closed to some ideas and suggestions, but we learned that is not necessarily the way to go. This is truly exciting stuff, and it will get even better later on as you finish the article. We always think that it is always all good, and it just needs to percolate a little bit in your mind. One habit, or behavior, all successful parents need to learn is effective communication with their children. A child has a natural need for the attention of his or her parent. Negative attention, or communications, can have devastating effects. It’s not unusual for a child to decide that he or she isn’t loved when positive communication isn’t forthcoming. This is an easy way to increase the self-worth of any child. The positive results will become even more apparent as the child grows older and enters their teen years. Also, compassionate communication is more effective then merely yelling at a young child. Yes, we all know that kids need to be reminded more than once, but that’s the nature of children.

Most children don’t have confidence naturally, but there are some who do. Confidence is something that can be built up or torn down and that is up to you. They might not need it as often, but even kids that are confident need to be encouraged. You need to encourage your children regularly, and any time they need an extra boost you need to give it. To develop your children in a healthy way, this is very important. A little more thought needs to be taken with the child who is naturally shy. Your child needs to develop behaviors that are positive, and anything that will do it, is worth doing. Confidence is something that every kid needs to escape suffering, but too often shy kids don’t have it. These few insights are only a drop in the bucket of what the life of a parent encompasses. When you are just beginning to learn about parenting, make it a goal to learn the major concepts first. Then you can interpret situations by applying the concepts the best way you can. As a parent, that’s probably the best approach you can take and it’s infinitely more productive and positive than simply “flying by the seat of your pants.”

Ever find yourself with this problem?

I bought this pair of skinny jeans for a mere $8 since the zipper needed mending. I’m a sewer so I figured it’d be a quick fix . Well, time has gone by and I haven’t found the time to mend them until now. Luckily, I had just enough matching thread leftover from another project.

So, I pulled out my zipper foot.

. And I moved my needle to the left position…if you have a Bernina, make sure you do this or you’ll break a needle.

With any machine, I advise you to check your needle position any time you place a different foot on. I do this by manually turning the dial to make my needle move to the down position. This way you know if you need to move your needle position to the left or right (and you won’t break a needle!).

Now, I just placed the foot down on the zipper, turned my dial by hand to place my needle down and made sure it was lined up with the existing stitching.

I sewed a straight stitch down the side of the zipper. It does get a little tricky down at the bottom since it get bulky and you’ll have to smash your zipper down a bit (or maybe just zip it up!). Make sure you reinforce your stitch when you start and stop…maybe you can avoid having to mend it again!

Now, your zipper is back in place! And it’s time to rock your cute jeans again

Miracle of miracles it worked! The dress that had given us so much grief (as you’ll recall the zipper broke, was replaced and still didn’t work) actually zipped on only the third try! I cannot even begin to tell you the relief that I felt. All was right in the world for at least a good four minutes. That’s when my daughter began to panic that I hadn’t done a good enough job altering the straps. “It’s too loose,” she told me.

I did my best to remain calm. This was her first real dance, she had two friends over getting ready with her and the excitement level was high. “No worries,” I replied. “We’ll simply get some small safety pins and attach the straps to your bra so that there will be no danger of anything showing.” I was relieved once again when we were able to find the safety pins.

Okay, now the crisis was certainly averted. You would think so anyway, but two minutes later she was back telling me that the straps still looked loose and her friends had agreed with her. I considered killing her friends who normally I love, but who were now on a short list of people to be done away with. My child looked beautiful. The straps were fine. We had an exchange in which I told her there was nothing else to be done. She had refused to buy a new dress because she loved this one so much, which meant there was no alternative. The dance was starting in ten minutes!

I went back to her friends (whom I love) and told them to go tell her she looked fine. They did and I tried to breathe. Fortunately my daughter did the same, and finally there was peace. She went to the dance, had a good time and came home with aching feet. In other words, success!

It’s the middle of winter and the anxious, pessimistic side of me has taken over. Too many things an

It’s the middle of winter and the anxious, pessimistic side of me has taken over. Too many things annoy me and preoccupy my mind as I stay at home in this cold weather. But when we spent a week in a Florida hotel trying to break up the winter, I discovered there were other irritations besides icy streets and winter winds.

There was background noise everywhere. At first I thought I was imagining it when I heard disturbing sounds in the elevator in our hotel in South Beach. I hoped I wasn’t going crazy in Miami. The disturbing noise followed me through the lobby and down to the swimming pool. “Do you hear anything?” I hesitantly asked my husband, Allan, not wanting him to know I was having auditory hallucinations. “I can’t hear what your saying for that horrible music. It’s everywhere.”

The hotels are now the same as the restaurants. Who is all this background “music” for? Someone told me the staff likes to work with music in the background and the owners believe the waiters move faster when it’s on. Who cares about the customers? A restaurant is supposed to be successful when the tables are close together and the music is loud. I suppose it’s totally successful when there are six people at a table and it’s impossible to carry on a conversation. When I run for municipal election my platform will be the abolition of background music.

[related_links /]

Annoyance 2: Everywhere one goes in the world (I mean the northern part) there is the universal winter uniform — the quilted parka, waist, hip and calf length. Such a useful garment. I have two of them, one black, and one white with a lighter weight. Parkas don’t look good on anyone, but that’s not the reason they annoy me. When one wears a quilted parka one doesn’t expect to make a fashion statement no matter how much it costs. (A few designers have the nerve to try — and fail — to make the quilted parka elegant.) The troubles with parkas are the zippers. I have never had a parka that had a zipper that lasted more than a year. My husband bought a parka from a large department store and the zipper broke the second time he wore it. Do you know how tedious it is to schlep back the parka, get someone to wait on you and argue about a broken zipper? Now my white parka has snaps but if one wants warmth one has to zip up because the snaps don’t do the trick. Is there a way somebody could invent a three year zipper or a quilted parka that has a slim curvy look?

Actually I didn’t want my visits to the bathroom to be a major event in the restaurant

Annoyance 3: Allan and I recently went to the dining room of the new Four Seasons Hotel in Toronto. The occasion was his birthday. The food and service were excellent but of course there had to be something that would irritate me. When I stood up to go to the washroom it was impossible to move the heavy glass table. I was sitting on a banquette and a waiter rushed over to me. “If you have to get up we are supposed to shift the table for you.” Actually I didn’t want my visits to the bathroom (there were more than one) to be a major event in the restaurant. But imagine if there were four people at the table and they all went to the washroom at different times. A waiter must be called, the conversation stops, the table is heaved aside and must be moved again to let the guest back to his place.

Allan likes prosciutto but he’s not going to get it too often

Annoyance 4: I have great difficulty opening food packages. Often there is a seal line on the plastic bag that contains a pack of smoked meats or whatever it is I need to open. I made the mistake of thinking that the seal line was where the package opened, but it never opens for me. I used to take a not-so-sharp knife and try to gouge the package, often pulling the meat through the hole in the plastic with my hand. Eventually I discovered the miracle of scissors and, after several cuts below the seal line, I manage to empty the package of its contents, which can never return into the plastic bag again. Allan likes prosciutto but he’s not going to get it too often. I bought what I thought was the best Italian kind, which was in the plastic package. When I got the plastic open each thin slice of prosciutto had an equally thin slice of paper stuck to it. Each slice had to be peeled off separately. Next time I’ll buy a whole prosciutto and a meat slicer. It will take less time.

While it is hard to be a parent, single parenting can particularly hard. The challenges include rais

While it is hard to be a parent, single parenting can particularly hard. The challenges include raising your child and handling other aspects of you life such as your job and finances. As we will discuss, there are several ideas single parents can utilize to make their lives work more smoothly.

Financial concerns are often an issue for single parents. Bringing up a child on one income can be difficult after experiencing two incomes. Make budget that clearly spells out all of your expenses so you can handle the challenge. Often, you may have to deal with great changes such as moving to an apartment or smaller home or moving to a less affluent area. Buy used items, use coupons and buy in bulk as you can to save cash. While we don’t always want to use these techniques, it is preferable to be able to pay all of your bills. We think that is pretty amazing, and to think that you have barely scratched the surface about http://www.justanotherbaby.co.uk/category/bedtime/grobags/. By all means, do not stop with what you are learning here today; that would be a shame.

Of course you are here because you have a need to know more, and of course you need some additional support in the way of leveraging the work of others. There are tremendous benefits to be had once you reach that particular place. We all want to have as much control as possible, even though we know we cannot control everything, but still – knowledge lets you be in a position to respond better to events. When you become a single parent a change of career may also be in order. For the first time, you may need a true career. Some jobs work better for single parents than others you may consider. An average 9 to 5 job may not be easy to deal with if by 3 your children have returned from school. Consider a job with flexible hours, such as nursing and many other jobs in the medical profession. You may also be able to work at home doing something like web design, graphics, writing or some type of online marketing. When you’re a single parent, you need a reliable source of income that also gives you some freedom with your schedule.

It can be hard when you are a single parent to date a new person. You’re never sure how, or even if to introduce this new person to your child. It is good to understand that your child does not need to meet people you have only recently begun to date. Your child may become distressed if the person doesn’t stick around for long and other problems. Your child should gradually get to know the person only if you are seriously involved with them. Pointedly, a new family cannot be made unless they get along well with your kids. Finally, it is important to understand your current situation and work with what you have as a single parent. The fact that you are a single parent does not mean you have more to confront because even two parent families deal with problems. Honestly, children readily adapt to new situation but it is imperative that you manage your life as a single parent creatively and go with the flow.

This dress looks like a nice dress, right? My daughter Tessa chose it two years ago and wore it only once or twice. Tori, pictured above, loved it and has tried it on many times hoping it would fit. The zipper was never very good and about the time Tori finally grew into it, the darned thing broke.

This Friday, she is attending her first spring formal, and she wants to wear this dress. No problem, all we have to do is replace the zipper. Well, that and a slight alteration to the straps. On Sunday, we dropped it off to have the zipper replaced, and we got it back today. Tori came home from school, tried on the dress, and as I attempted to zip it up for her, it caught in the exact same place that the old one had.

The dress is not tight. There is no reason for the zipper, this second zipper, to stick, but stick it does. We have tried waxing it and that has helped only a little, and only when it’s on the bed. Put it on the child and it sticks. Two years she has waited to wear this dress! I’m not sure what to try next but it’s making us all nuts. She’s got the shoes, planned her hair, her nails, etc. but the dress, this remains a question mark.

So, today’s post isn’t just fashion related, Because I came across a really cute Irish pub recently called Hibernia Irish Tavern. I figured an early green ensemble , and Saint-Patrick’s day post was necessary , and what’s better than an Irish pub and fashion? Not to mention, It is one of the most charming places in Little Rock, if you ever have the chance I would definitely recommend it! I hope everyone has a good Saint-Patrick’s Day on the 17th.. and stay safe!!<3

Here are some pictures of the outfit I wore last night. I figured it was worth posting because so many people have a problem incorporating a pop of color into an outfit that is not all black. If you don’t have grey jeans in your closet go get some. I know it can be scary to stray away from darker jeans that make everyone look thinner, but grey jeans are so versatile they can really make your wardrobe more fun. I covered up my bright red tank with a classic white lace tee, and added dark brown riding boots to make the outfit more casual.

Many parents find the task of raising kids much harder than they thought it would be, and when you have to do it all by yourself, it’s twice as difficult. Many people are finding out they have to adjust to single parenting, because it is almost as common as households with both parents. With more information, single parenting will become easier, and that is the purpose of this article.

Childcare will probably be a necessity if you have a full time job unless family members can help out. While childcare can be expensive, do some homework on the choices in your area to find the best fit for you and your child. In order to find excellent daycare, ask around because the best ideas often come from personal recommendations.

A well thought of childcare service that can provide references is important and should be factored into you decision along with cost. Well, we hope you are duly impressed with just this little bit about visit. By all means, do not stop with what you are learning here today; that would be a shame.

This is all we ask of anyone, really, to view this with a receptive mind and go farther with it. That is why it is so imperative that you really dissect what you are reading here; your awareness will be the better for it. Even if you cannot control a lot, and who can, you will be much better prepared through learning and amassing knowledge.

A pleasant and civil relationship is key if the other parent of your child is still in the picture. Dealing with two parents who make furious comments about one another is horrific for a child. Purchasing items including gifts should not be used as a competition between your ex and you. When speaking about your ex to your children say little unless it is positive. Even if there is cause, it does not help them to hear blaming and complaining. In order to have this child they were necessary, so keep that in mind.

As a single parent, stay away from getting to isolated. Adults should be brought into your life even as you have the constant companionship of your child or children.

Raising your child alone can lead to feelings that no one is there to assist you and the responsibilities can become all consuming. In your area, search out single parent support groups. Engaging with other people in situations that may be the same can be beneficial. While meeting new people, you may also discover those who can help you with problems such as occasional babysitting that happen frequently. You can find groups online for single parents, but it’s also good to meet people in person who may become part of your support network.

There is a lot more support for single parents these days, so questions about raising their child or finding answers for financial issues are easier to find. With the continually growing number of parents raising their children alone, finding a support system made up of people in the same situation. Even when your situation seems hopeless, it still is better to keep your eyes on the best things possible, than worrying about your problem.

You can truly improve your parenting skills through accurate and reliable knowledge. A great deal of

You can truly improve your parenting skills through accurate and reliable knowledge. A great deal of research, since the 1960s, has been happening behind the scenes.

While you won’t have time to read volumes of information, you can read a few good books. Consulting with your doctor can also help you in this area. Child psychologist are probably going to be able to help you the most since they specialize in this particular area.

Any parent that has more than one child will experience problem resolution on a regular basis. Your purpose is to be authoritative, especially when your children are arguing and fighting. Rather than yelling at them, teach them how to resolve their own problems. This will take extra time and effort on your part as well as patience, but you’ll be teaching them valuable lessons. As long as you show patience, and keep a cool head, you can help them work out any problem they are having. Over time, through repetition, they will understand what you are saying. This first hand example that you give them, based on experience, will help them the most. To help them learn what to do, you need to be honest and open with them at all times. We know that you are enjoying all that is offered about How Parents Can Help Their Kids Lose Weight. Sure, we know this is just one article, but take it from us when we tell you there is so much more to know.

The one thing you do not want to do is carelessly ignore something that does not grab you right away. Eventually, you will discover that each little thing has its own part to play and contributes to the overall. It is hardly ever a good idea to maintain a closed mind about anything, and that has served us very well. So just keep going forward with the second part, and there will be more solid information that you can do some good things with. That is never a bad thing even though it can seem like a lot to take in. Learning how to communicate effectively with your children is a behavior that can lead to positive results. Remember that your young child is craving for your attention, and poor communication can have a negative effect. The first conclusion a child might come to is that your lack of attention indicates that you don’t love the child. This is an easy way to increase the self-worth of any child. And, as the child moves into his or her teen years, the effects of this positive self-esteem will be positive. Needless to say, yelling at a child has negative consequences, whereas gentle and compassionate communicate is much more effective. This is true even when you take into consideration a child’s need to be told something more than one time, which is natural for a child.

As you child matures and enters into their teen years, make it a priority to include him or her in family discussions. But make sure the discussion to be held is appropriate for the teenager to participate in. Give your upcoming family discussion some thought and decide if it’s time for a teenager to participate. The reason this can be a positive is it signals that you realize your teen is becoming an adult. Your child will also begin to feel responsibility towards the family. So, be sure, when you ask an older child to become part of a family discussion, that you make it clear you welcome their ideas and opinions also. When you see how positively your teenager reacts to being included in family discussions, you may be pleasantly surprised. The parenting tips you have just read are just a tiny fraction of life with your children. A successful approach to parenting that a lot of parents have used is to make it a point to learn all the major concepts to parenting. When a situation arises, you can adapt what you have learned so it is specific to the situation at hand. As a parent, that’s probably the best approach you can take and it’s infinitely more productive and positive than simply “flying by the seat of your pants.”

Okay ladies – jeggings and leggings are two different but similar things. Recently I had a wom

Okay ladies – jeggings and leggings are two different but similar things. Recently I had a woman come into my store who had no idea what jeggings were, “Do they have a zipper and a button?” she asked. Let me clarify the differences between the two and explain the different types of jeggings and leggings that you might run into while shopping.

By now we all know leggings – the thicker than tights but thinner than sweats material pants that come in every imaginable color including patterns, and even glitter. The most popular legging color is black.

Shopping for Leggings:

Make sure when choosing a pair of leggings you try them on. I can’t stress this enough. The worst feeling is getting home and realizing you’ve purchased leggings where the material is so thin you are able to see your underwear through them. You also do not want to get home and realize the leggings are way too tight.

When pairing leggings with an outfit be sure to wear a tunic shirt (a shirt long enough to cover your behind). Wearing leggings as pants out in public is a no-no. There is only one type of legging you can get away with doing this with – the yoga legging with a fold over top.

Volcom Jeggings from 6PM.com, click photo to redirect to site.

Commonly sold at Victoria’s Secret but now found pretty much anywhere, these yoga leggings are a combination of the yoga pant and legging and are extremely comfortable for exercising or just lounging. Click here to view a pair.

Now moving on to the greater subject at hand – jeggings.

Jegging, or Jean Leggings are thin jean material that have the elasticity of a legging. They can either come with a zipper and button or not, and they typically look like jeans until you feel how they stretch. Jeggings are very fashionable right now because you can wear them as jeans and don’t need to worry about wearing a tunic shirt.

Shopping for jeggings:

Trying on jeggings is a must. They also come in every color and every style. Since zippers are really in right now it is very easy to find jeggings with zippers used at the bottom or on the side for a touch of style. Check out these Volcom (one of my favorite brands) jeggings.

Now let’s discuss lengths. Leggings and Jeggings come in full length (a little past your ankle), ankle (commonly referred to as peddle-pushers), & crop (stopping mid-calf).

*If you have shorter legs stay away from the crop leggings or jeggings, they will only make you look shorter.

*If you have longer legs you can really pull off any length. Many women with longer legs are afraid of the peddle pusher ankle style pants but don’t be. There is really only about a two inch difference between full length and ankle and since these types of pants are close to your skin.

Every girl needs a pair of leggings and jeggings in their closet.
