Zune-Arts es el sitio promocional de Zune donde se reúne una gran variedad de artistas que crean contenido multimedia para el dispositivo. Podemos ver y descargar todos los cortos publicitarios, fondos de pantalla para nuestro Zune y el escritorio. También hay información detallada acerca de los artistas y músicos que forman parte de la comunidad. El sitio está abierto a cualquier persona que quiera sumarse y subir contenido para el  Zune, sólo basta registrarse.

Los anuncios del Zune son increíbles, como el aparato mismo. Cada anuncio fue creado por artistas diferentes, convirtiéndolos por separado en una pieza única de animación. Desde el 1er video que vi (Goofi) aprecié el concepto de compartir canciones que se nota en el resto de las animaciones, y todo sin la necesidad de mostrar el aparato. Aún así en los anuncios de la 2da generación sí se aprecia.  Cuando vean algunos videos van a darse cuenta de lo que hablo.

GN 20. The Lost Ones by Steve Niles. Illustrated by Morning Breath, Dr. Revolt, Gary Panter, and Kime Buzzelli. 78 p. Published in 2008.

The Lost Ones is a collaborative art effort hosted by Microsoft’s Zune Arts. It brings Steve Niles, author of 30 Days of Night, together with “a horror-genre revivalist, a grafitti legend, a skate art duo, a fashion designer, and the king of punk art.” Together, they tell the story of Duncan, Roxy, Cynthia, and Rasheed – four people looking to take extreme sports to new heights.

Looking to create a new sport, our four intrepid heroes develop a technology for “extreme planet jumping.” But instead of finding themselves on another planet, our four pioneers become lost in a twisted parrallel of our own universe, where life has taken a shocking turn from reality. Running from cowboy-inspired aliens, the group jumps from reality to reality, each one more disturbed than the last. As they continue to jump around searching for their own earth, the group must come to terms with the nature of creativity and reflect on their lives.

While the story of The Lost Ones isn’t all that original, its eclectic artwork provides a wholly unique dimension. Each chapter, while drawn by a different artist, pulls from the work before it. This collaboration culminates in providing a revolutionary work of graphic art.

I recieved my copy of The Lost Ones free from my local comic shop, but it can also be read for free or downloaded from the Zune Arts site.

In my spare time I post on a music blog, wearecolour. I got thinking about how the animation world I’m involved in through my professional life crosses over with the music I love. Ergo, a dual post for both blogs.

Colour has previously written about Subtle, their new album Exiting Arm and touched on the trilogy of animations by SSSR, available on the rarities collection Wishingbone.

This collection of animations is some of the finest modern animation I have come across and perfectly translates the schizophrenic, dark world that Subtle have created through their music. SSSR use nostalgic imagery such as the blurry flicker of cinefilm and a hint of early black and white Disney animation and totally subvert it by layering crisp 3D objects, smudged doodles and stop motion which could detract from the overall narrative, but the uniform monochromatic style brings it all together.

SSSR are represented by UK based Passion Pictures, who are responsible for such gems as the Sony Bravia bunnies advert, the cr-eepy Domestos germ adverts, more recently the BBC ‘Return to the East’ Jamie Hewlett Olympics advert and about a billion good music videos.

“a graphic novel written by celebrated writer Steve Niles. For the Zune-commissioned novel, Niles was paired up with visual artists Dr. Revolt, Gary Panter, Kime Buzzelli and Morning Breath to take the reader on an epic journey through time and space. Each artist illustrated a different chapter of the novel.”

Para los que no recuerdan, Steve Niles es el creador del cómic 30 Days of Night. Los ilustradores vienen del mundo del grafitti (Dr. Revolt, Morning Breath), galerias de arte (Buzzelli), y del comic underground (Panter).

Zune Arts, the program that aims to bring the best creative minds together to collaborate on inspiring works of art, has released a new video: “Piece of Me, Piece of You.” The new work is a short film created by Three Legged Legs and features the musical styling of Chromeo’s “Fancy Footwork.”

Zune Arts is one of my fave websites of all time. Not only do they foster collabs between the hottest artists and designers in the business, but they’re aware that in the new world of web and media the old idea of “create something – hold it back – make me people pay for it” doesn’t work anymore. Just ask the recording industry. But I digress…

Zune-Arts makes creation accessible and, even better, they understand that once people relate to a work there are tons of ways to promote it by making it their own: buddy icons, wallpapers, downloads. Zune-Arts makes it beyond easy to fall in love with new work and then spread it around. It’s brilliant.

In the latest Zune collab, “creative warriors” Three Legged Legs have taken electro-duo Chromeo’s track “Fancy Footwork” and turned into a felt-ridden zombie-filled night-time choreography romp. Besides being hilarious and random, that authentic Thriller-esque touch didn’t just happen. Three Legged Legs went all the way and worked with modern dance choreography Kristin Zipfel to get an authentic (or, as authentic as you can get working with felt-zombie puppets). The efforts show, and the vid is beyond kick ass:

Plus, if for some reason you haven’t seen it, one of the most beautiful things I’ve ever seen is another Zune Arts masterpiece: Corey Godbey’s stunning “Le Cadeau De Temps”. Watch it right now.

Le numéro mondiale du logiciel fait généralement des pubs limites limites, pas très artisitique et peu recherché.

Mais depuis que la firme de Redmond a décidé de concurrencer Apple sur le marché des baladeurs, les gens de chez Microsoft nous ont ponduent un design simple, une interface agréable, et des fonctions intéressantes le tous pour un prix raisonable.

Et pour bien compléter le tableau il fallais faire vendre le tout, alors il y a eu la présentation officiel avec Bill Gates et tout le tralala, et ensuite la campagne de pub à tous casser…

Et c’est là que ça leur a réussi, leur puclicité sont très bien faite!

Plusieurs agences ont été engagé pour réaliser les videos et elles ont toutes redoubler de créativité et franchement j’adore!
Mise à part les rares vidéos où l’on voit l’objet en question et qui sont quand même sympathique, les autres sont tout simplement des oeuvres d’arts de l’imagerie de synthèse!
