What's the most drastic change you've ever made to your appearance?

All of the answers to this qotd I've seen so far have involved haircuts.  Mine does as well.  At the time, however, I already looked a little "drastic."  In high school I hung out with a "bad crowd" and did drugs and fucked.  Or at least my freshman and sophomore years.  You used to be able to tell my moods by how much eyeliner I was wearing.  We called ourselves "punk", but, really, I think about it now, and we were just desperate to stand out, and most kids go through a phase like this at some point.  I wore a dog collar around my neck that I bought at the Safeway in the Castro district in SFO.  You know, one of those choke collars.  There was a lot metal everywehre.  My clothes were always secondhand, from the Goodwill, or discards of my parents.  I wore several different pairs of my dad's shoes (too big) for years, especially his old Army boots, because it was the fashion.  I guess the dfiference was that I had…

Let's start with permanent first.  I was born with a freak genetic mutation that causes my hair to be a vivid shade of fuchsia, with purple undertones.  As you can imagine, having a purple-haired baby in the midwest during the mid-60s was no cup of tea, and so at a very young age my mother started dying my hair brown to compensate for it.
