I do not like Snakes

BY HARRY
Submitted by Joey Ingram . I do not like snakes Either real nor fake Or at the lake Or hanging around a birthday cake At the end of a garden rake For heaven’s sake I do not like snakes Inside a swinging tire, my false bravado will expire I do not like them in a tree Or when they stare at me Never do I sing in glee About a snake slithering towards me Snakes in a zoo or on my lawn, see one snake and I will be gone Black snake, garden snake or rattle snake I succumb to my childish fear As it is always followed by, “Get me the hell out of here!”

And the floods came. Again.

As a Louisiana native watching my home state suffer is a heart-wrenching event.

During the Hurricane Katrina disaster I was “lucky” to be living in the Baton Rouge area when the storm hit, so my home was relatively undamaged and I was able, for months after the storm, to devote time to helping with recovery. 577 more words
