I saw the original stage version with Tim Curry in the King's Road cinema that had been converted to a theatre venue for the show when it transferred from the Royal Court. Magic! I also auditioned, unsuccessfully, for Richard O'Brien for a later musical that I believe ran for just a week! While I enjoy the film adaptation, it does not and cannot compare to the original on stage.
