I ride a bicycle every day and like to take pictures of the things I see along the way.  Much of my cycling is done along the Raccoon River Valley Trail, a converted rail line that stretches 60 miles from our home in Jefferson Iowa to the state capital in Des Moines. 280 more words

The newest stretch of the Johnny Cash Trail in Folsom crosses Robber’s Ravine and heads east towards Folsom Dam; it runs parallel to East Natoma Street as it crosses beneath the first of two small roads entering the grounds of Folsom Prison. 71 more words

Exploring another section of the Lawrence-Hopewell Trail

Slowly but surely, the 22-mile Lawrence-Hopewell Trail is being built. My understanding is that the section from Bristol-Myers Squibb on Carter Road to a 90-degree bend on Cleveland Road will be built this year, taking the trail off a main thoroughfare that has no shoulder and can be unpleasant, especially if you don’t like riding with traffic. 306 more words
