Fair play to Oscar De La Hoya for being upfront and honest about Canelo not being ready for the fight against Floyd Mayweather. Let's be honest: Floyd is one of the smartest people in boxing, and he knew that facing Canelo in 2013 was the perfect time to face him. If Canelo goes on to be one of the best fighters of his era, how good does that make Floyd look? Mayweather always takes these things into consideration when he picks his fights.
