Newly Discovered Photo Album Showcases Asheville in 1904

Thankfully, this enlightening photo album found its way to the librarians at Pack Memorial Library rather than the recycling bin where it nearly landed. This collection of city photos, from an unknown source, offers an interesting perspective on Asheville at the turn of the previous century when the town had a population of about 14,600 and could boast of having three banks, six schools and 20 churches, along with nine miles of paved roads and 14 miles of electric streetcar lines. 61 more words
