The Soldiers Mock Jesus
27 Then the governor’s soldiers took Jesus into the Praetorium and gathered the whole company of soldiers around him. 28 They stripped him and put a scarlet robe on him, 29 and then twisted together a crown of thorns and set it on his head.
A small little girl, proud in her pink jacket, walks down the Nave aisle carrying a sharp, and all too real, crown of thorns. And I find myself wondering why does so small a child need to know of such things? 555 more words
John 19:1-3: “Then Pilate took Jesus and had him flogged. The soldiers twisted together a crown of thorns and put it on his head. They clothed him in a purple robe and went up to him again and again, saying, 'Hail, king of the Jews!'”
