Today is the Day of Silence, a new initiative in New Zealand to battle things like Homophobia, Biphobia and Transphobia. The ideal behind it quoted from the site is as thus: ‘The National Day of Silence is a day of action in which students across the country vow to take a form of silence to call attention to the silencing effect of homophobic, biphobic and transphobic bullying, name-calling and harassment in schools’ I personally have a problem with this, because though it’s goal is worthy, it’s method and execution leave something to be desired. 699 more words
