The Long Island Ducks Sign Son, Nephew, Giovanny Alfonzo, of Current and Former Brooklyn Cyclones’ Managers

The Long Island Ducks of the independent Atlantic League announced Tuesday that they have inked infielder Giovanny Alfonzo.

The signing is notable to Mets fans because Alfonzo is the son of former Brooklyn Cyclones manager Edgar Alfonzo and the nephew of present manager and Mets legend Edgardo Alfonzo, who also played with the Ducks (2007).  165 more words

The New York Mets have named Edgardo Alfonzo as the 11th Manager in Brooklyn Cyclones history, succeeding Tom Gamboa, who retired after last season.
