Using Found Objects in Jewellery

Seaweed rockpool pendant

I do like seaweed shapes. Here are some of the sketches I did before making the pendant.  The oval edge is a little clunky but I do like these swirly seaweed shapes as Henri Matisse did!


Dot ring

This is a silver dotty ring I made for Vicky. It’s quite a chunky ring with a double layer of silver, so needed lots of annealing to make it round!


Glen Rosa Ring

I visited Arran with Sarah in 1997 and tried to paint a watercolour of Glen Rosa where we were camping.  This later inspired making a silver ring that reflected the shapes formed by the smooth U shaped valley contrasting with the more rugged mountain tops.
