Another day at Garapatta

After a summer of sand build up a big winter storm came and took away feet of sand layers. What was left behind was being cut away by the streams overflowing after a heavy rain.

Urquhart Castle, Loch Ness

On Thursday, I took a last-minute, budget airline flight to Inverness.  Limiting myself to hand luggage only to make the most of the amazingly cheap fare on offer, I had to leave my Nikon D800e with assorted lenses at home, presenting me with the ideal opportunity to put a new kid on the block, a Sony A7R with 35mm prime lens, through its paces.  191 more words

Mount Rundle at Sunrise (Banff National Park)

I awoke around 5:30 and headed out to Vermilion Lakes in Banff National Park to catch the sunrise over Mount Rundle. It’s my favorite place to get sunrise pictures in the whole park but I’ve still yet to catch that ‘dream’ sunrise where the clouds light up and provide that amazing backdrop. 219 more words
