The Congregation For the Clergy issued new instructions for the training of seminarians and included is an edict that states the Church “cannot admit to the seminary or to holy orders those who practice homosexuality, present deep-seated homosexual tendencies, or support the so-called ‘gay culture.” The new seminary instructions regarding gay men are lifted from a 2005 statement by the Congregation For Catholic Education, which has until now been largely ignored in favor of excluding only those men who are currently living with a partner and have no desire to be celibate. 1,290 more words
