Use of QR codes to facilitate offline-to-online transactions is such a great technology that really shouldn't be relegated to the basket of obsolescence too soon. Instead, modalities should be worked out to reinforce security features alongside improving other features as suggested in this post. I reckon, from the perspective of the developing world, the ad industry would be served better by implementing such modifications just as much as such innovations would significantly boost ad outreach. Delighted to observe collaboration between Visualead and Alibaba intends to achieve just that in the long term. What a thoughtful and remarkable progress!
