Emma Donoghue’s much awarded 2010 novel Room (Picador 2010) is a recent read for me. I saw the wonderful movie of it last year. Having read the book, I think it catches the claustrophobic yet vividly alive world of the five year old child better, because the whole narration is in the child’s voice, and we imagine and live it only through him. 1,003 more words
