Music Review: Alice In Chains - Facelift (1990)

The birth of legends

It’s 1990, and the music world is in the midst of a metal domination, with such acts as Slayer, Metallica, Cannibal Corpse and Sepultura playing for sold out shows across the countries of the world and blasting through the speakers of a younger generation of kids and adults. 796 more words

Chester Bennington

I just need to vent this time.. For those who don’t know who Chester Bennington was, he was the lead vocalist of Linkin Park. He recently committed suicide after losing a battle with his demons. Ever since this tragedy, it has taken a pretty big toll on me. Not many people take depression seriously & it’s scary. I, myself, suffer from depression & it is so hard. Some days are just too hard to handle. I loved Linkin Park. More importantly, I loved Chester. His music spoke to me as well as others. Each lyric ran through my veins because I felt him. I felt his pain. I felt his fear. I felt how much he was hurting. He cried for help & no one listened. I recently watched him in an interview going in depth about his depression. See here: http://loudwire.com/chester-bennington-depths-depression-linkin-park-chester-site-suicide-prevention-information/ . I bought tickets to see Linkin Park for their One More Light tour literally the day before his suicide. It’s heartbreaking. I’m writing this as a form of suicide awareness. Somewhere, someone is not okay. Be kind always because you never ever know what someone is going through or what they are battling. If you or someone you know/love is battling depression, you can call the National Suicide Prevention hotline at 1.800.273.8255 (available 24/7).
