Review: Anchovies Food & Spirits

Anchovies is located on Columbus Ave in the South End, about a 6 minute walk from the Back Bay T stop.  The vibe when you walk in is “old school Italian dive.”  It’s small and it’s got a pack of loyal bar patrons (older gentlemen drinking and talking that seem to know everyone there) and the tables seemed to be full with local neighborhood couples stopping in to grab a quick, low-key bite to eat.   237 more words

Review: Picco

Picco is a small, hip-feeling restaurant located on Tremont St. in the South End.  While known for their pizzas, they offer several other non-italian dishes including tacos, salads, ice cream and other various items that I don’t remember because I only read the pizza menu (I have a one track mind).   361 more words

The Weekly [not so] Skinny: Summer Tomatoes at The Beehive

Hellooo Summer, how ya doin? Yup, that’s July on a plate right there.

Look at me making healthy choices. Except, of course, that the part of this Summer Salad I enjoyed most was the white impostor in the middle there that’s reminiscent of… yea, that’s cheese. 149 more words
