Fair Violets: Painting a Still Life

Painting still lifes is very enjoyable for me. I like the more compact, concise subject matter. I also like the play of highlights and shadows. Here is one I am particularly fond of, shown above, called “Fair Violets.” I don’t usually paint flowers and not only did I enjoy paintings them, I am very happy with the way the painting came out. 102 more words


Semi-abstract stormy landscape

Stormy semi-abstract landscape with a lot of vertical and horizontal lines. I used masking tape to obtain the crisp aspect of the design. I usually do representational paintings but this one was an experiment and the result is to my liking. 14 more words
