13 People Accused of Welfare Fraud in Nassau County

MINEOLA, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) – More than a dozen cases of welfare fraud have been uncovered in Nassau County.

DA: 12 LIers Charged in Public Assistance Fraud

Twelve Long Islanders stole more than $370,000 in Medicaid benefits, food stamps and other public-assistance aid, Nassau County prosecutors said Thursday.

The twelve — 11 from Nassau and one from Suffolk — have been arrested on multiple charges, including grand larceny and welfare fraud, according to a news release from the office of District Attorney Kathleen Rice. 1,073 more words
