We noticed this historical plaque along the Melville Water Riverpark Trail, at Coffee Point near the South of Perth Yacht Club in Applecross. It records the fact that a boat slip was built there in 1897 and two paddle steamers were assembled and launched to act as ferries. 10 more words

Settler's Rest

This beautiful little church, being the oldest in Western Australia was built circa 1838 by Richard Edwards.  Many early settlers came to pray at this idyllic spot on the Swan River and claimed a piece of Perth, now known as Henley Brook, that they then called home. 210 more words
