I caught the last sleeping beauty performance of English national ballet this year – I left the theatre with a warm nutcracker feeling – happiness comes out of aurora’s movements – this time the blue bird didn’t steal the show – aurora is the prettiest – I loved how festival aurora entered the party – the movement was clean and on the music – the most beautiful scene tonight was when the lilac fairy first introduced aurora to the prince – the music and the interaction between the three (aurora, prince and lilac fairy) makes me so curious – the fairy’s message was written on the flute – i liked the lilac fairy tonight more than last time – because she created that long and stretched feeling in the phrases of music by her movement – the phrases of other fairies were written in short breaths – but when lilac fairy emerged Tchaikovsky was meant to use long breaths in music – this prince is very handsome as well – on his wedding altho he’s supposed to be very happy and jump very high – but he didn’t lose the quality of his jump and he landed each of those three tour en lair in fifth – I’m so happy that I watched this sleeping beauty again – now I just fell in love with the music of it cuz the fantasy ballet had brought to me
