“It’s weird and pissed off, whatever it is”

John Carpenter’s 1982 masterpiece The Thing is easily in my Top 5 films of all time. That’s not just for horror either, the movie is one of my earliest memories as a young film fan, and the scene when we first see the mysterious canine stranger turn, is for me an excellent example of how to combine science-fiction and horror, with the unseen and unknown coming together in the horrifying image of the grotesque animal. 125 more words
