South West Victoria: Wannon Falls

Wannon Falls is situated about 15km west of Hamilton, practically beside the Glenelg Highway in south-west Victoria. Driving towards Hamilton yesterday I had the impulse to take a look, and after decent rains the flow was looking very healthy.

These Austral Grasstrees, (Xanthorrhoea australis) regenerate quickly after bushfires. During and immediately after flowering the spikes have a magnetic attraction for flying and crawling insects of all types as well as feeding birds. 9 more words
