Photo of the Day: Giant Spiders

The main attraction of the Yokohama Y150 anniversary event was the French ENEOS La Machine, a massive spider approximately 12 meters tall.

This is quite a different spider than the one you can find at the base of the Mori building in Roppongi Hills.

This year marked the 150th anniversary of the 1859 opening of the Port of Yokohama.

To commemorate this anniversary, Expo Y150, a grand exposition focusing on the history and attractions of the city, was held between April 28 to September 27, 2009. 205 more words

La Machine

On Sunday, I saw La Machine!  I went to the Y150 Expo, or the 150th Anniversary of the Opening of the Port of Yokohama.  I’ll have pictures sometime in the future, but for now, here’s a video.  93 more words
